We have just returned from a week at the Kosmas Apartments, staying as a family of 5 (my husband, myself and our 12 year old in one apartment and my 17 year old son and his same age girlfriend in another)||We were lucky enough to get a very low cost last minute deal for this hotel and were very positive after reading the glowing reviews before we arrived.||Overall we had a positive experience at the Kosmas and had a fantastic holiday - here are our good and not so good bits!||Arriving late at night to the hotel.in darkness with a few other guests on the coach too - no one knew where to go to check in until one of us walked down a little side road and discovered the bar area - maybe some signage up would be helpful.||The rooms are extremely basic and a bit stark (we accepted this though as we had got a good bargain price). Wobbly, rusty fixtures in bathroom, some old mugs and a few plates, old pans in the cupboards (fine for us as we hadn't planned on cooking for ourselves). ||Room was invaded by crickets every night (can't be helped due to the location)||Aircon 50 euros for the week ||We paid for the Greek night and BBQ - it had been reduced to €14 pp as there was no greek entertainment on due to the football. Food was ok, meat, tzasiki and bread with chips and salad. When we went to pay the bill didn't realise until too late that we had been charged the full €17 pp instead. We wished we had gone into town instead as we could have had a meal with a few drinks too for the same price.||Bar/restaurant food was excellent and good value. We had breakfast there everyday and snacks/drinks throughout the day. ||The owner was fairly quiet and seemed a bit fed up, however his kids who served the bar and his wife were very friendly.||Pool area fantastic, our kids loved being in the pool all day.||Maid comes every few days to freshen up the room, she was so friendly and dud a fabulous job. Sheets changed once but that was fine.||The owner did approach our 17 year old when he was eating in the restaurant and apparently told him off quite a bit for leaving sand in the shower in his room - we didn't see the supposed mess but can't imagine he had dumped a truckload in there after returning from the beach - we felt a bit put out by this and wished he had approached us instead.||Overall we had a great time with our family, we would recommend the Kosmas but think there could be a few minor things improved for guests who pay the full price to stay (we were satisfied with what we got fir the...
Read moreThe location is 1 km away from the beach. I went with my husband and our 2-year-old daughter. We stayed in an apartment advertised as ‘luxury’, at a fairly high price (€800/7 days), but our experience did not meet expectations. The apartment had been recently renovated, but with rather cheap materials/furniture (some old furniture still remained in the room - table and chairs, coach in the dinning room) and a lack of attention to important details that affect the comfort of the stay: the front door had an improperly installed threshold, which allowed all kinds of insects to get inside, including some potentially dangerous ones, such as a centipede. When we reported this to the owner, we were ridiculed and nothing was done. Since we had a small child, we asked to be moved to the apartment next door, where access was through a hallway, which would have reduced the chances of insects getting in, but our request was denied on the grounds that everything was occupied. Lies: that room was unoccupied for at least two days after we asked to switch; the bathroom door was either too short or mounted too high, leaving a gap of about 20 cm at the bottom, which allowed every sound from the bathroom to be heard throughout the rest of the apartment (not pleasant, as you can imagine); no shower gel or shampoo was provided, just two mini-soaps for the entire stay – quite difficult to wash your body and hair with that; the mattress on the double bed was very uncomfortable; the terrace door was very hard to close (misaligned); the rooms are not well soundproofed; loud noises from other rooms can be heard clearly, especially chairs scraping against the floor, which creates an unbearable noise — very unpleasant to be woken up by this at 3–4 in the morning. The solution could be very simple: some fabric pads could be attached to the bottom of the chairs to eliminate this noise. the kitchen lacks basic essentials: salt, pepper, oil.
The rooms are cleaned every two days. I’m not complaining about the cleanliness, but the presence of insects significantly lowered the score in this category. The pools (a large one for adults and a smaller one for children) on the premises are a strong point, although I don’t know how they’re cleaned/filtered – I didn’t see anyone doing that during the whole week we stayed there.
In conclusion, the experience was mediocre, expensive for what was promised, and certainly...
Read moreWe booked in March a Deluxe Studio of 25 m² for 3 people, with a garden view. Upon arrival, we were given a much smaller room (about 16 m²), with old furniture, a fridge with a broken door, a cramped extra bed, and a “view” directly to the national road. All the traffic noise can be heard perfectly, day and night. Inside, there was a persistent smell of dampness and old furniture.||Toiletries? None. Not even a bar of soap. We had to buy our own. When we asked for clean towels, the reply was memorable: “We are not a 5-star hotel.” The bed linen was not changed even after 4 days, and there was no housekeeping at all.||Any improvements (towels, shower gel) only came after we threatened to file complaints. Until then, there was complete indifference.||The cherry on top? In the middle of our stay, we found a paper in the room asking us to pay a “tourist tax” that was already included in the booking price and confirmed by Booking.com as fully paid. Double standards raised to an internal policy.||Location? Far from the beach and restaurants. To get there, you have to walk along the national road, with no sidewalks, next to cars speeding past you. It takes around 20 minutes on foot to reach the beach, with all the discomfort and danger that implies.||Communication with the staff lacked empathy and basic courtesy, with excuses and pretexts meant to avoid responsibility.||In the end, we received partial compensation — but only after days of discussions, insistence, and involving Booking.com. Exactly the kind of “activity” you want to have during your holiday, right?||Conclusion: complete lack of respect for guests, substandard conditions, and a lot of wasted time fighting for basic things. Not...
