I promised the waiters to write a review, so here it is.
We had a wonderful dinner here a couple of years ago and I couldn't wait to go back to tacos and cocktails. But what happened today exceeded all expectations.
The waiter indeed warned us that we would have to wait, and I have no questions about this - we patiently waited 20 minutes for a table and then waited until they took our order (quite a long time) and then waited for the food to be brought to us. The restaurant was full and we saw how tense all the employees were - well, that happens, we ourselves agreed to this.
The cocktail was not bad, the food was very mediocre (maybe our own choice of food is to blame).
When we asked for the bill several times from different waiters, the restaurant was already half empty, but we still waited half an hour for it to be brought to us. We walked over to the bar to remind of our desire to pay for the evening anyway and I expressed my surprise at how long it takes them to print a receipt. In response I received from the bartender (bald sexist over 50) that he should not let us in and “relax, you’re on vacation”. LOL In this village there are quite a few nice places to eat and I really hope that my review will save someone nerves and time
P.S. my sister asked me to add that she also considers this behavior...
Read moreWe were searching for something different than lamb chops and souvlaki and found this nicely decorated Mexican restaurant. Honestly, we didn’t expect much but the food wasn’t disappointing and was pretty authentic. The service was alright. However, there was one small thing which bothered us. The waitress was super friendly to every other table except to us, everyone got a sombrero for taking pictures (they are there for taking pictures, something that made this restaurant stand out) except us, which made us feel like being treated second class. Even when we asked her to take a picture of us, she didn’t even bother to give us the sombrero and we had to take it ourselves. So we decided to give it a second try, it might also be that she had a rough day. But the second time, she treated us just the same way while other waiters were still very friendly to us. That destroyed of course the eating experience, she didn’t even look us in the eye when talking.
Nevertheless, we recommend the food, rather tacos or tortillas dishes than steaks because they are not specialized on that so our steak was not good. The sangria was very...
Read moreOur second visit and absolutely loved it again. The decor and ambiance is as Tex-Mex as you'll find anywhere outside of Texas or Mexico, with the appropriate backing soundtrack . The staff are extremely polite, lighthearted and impart a jovial and fun attitude whilst remaining professional. The place shines with cleanlines. We totally pigged out as we couldn't agree on starters and shared 6 appetisers between the 4 of us; all outstanding in addition to a huge salad loaded with strips of grilled chicken 🐷 also amazing! At this point we realised we'd ordered too much. The mains arrived and again the wonderful flavours, smells and presentation ensured that we wolfed the lot, leaving very little for the doggy bag. A couple or three rounds of cocktails had us pulling sombreros and parrots from the walls and chairs for the inevitably now embarrassing photos. A really great and fun evening. So nice not only to have an alternative to the normal fare generally on offer in the area, but for it to be of such high quality reflects the hard work these people have put in. Well done guys...
