Overall a good curry! Bread was nice, had the onion and chilli nan which was peppers on top which is different than ive had at home. good portion of rice (pilau) enough for 2 people. Vegetable pakora were slightly small although my mrs liked them like that, they did taste good though. Sag aloo had a lovely sag sauce and did taste as good if not better than any I've had at home, had a nice kick to it also. Chicken jalfrezi was a nice tasting curry, bit to much tomato puree in there for me although i am aware its a tomato tasting dish, it had a good spice level.. now my main dislikes were the lack of potato in the sag aloo, it was treated like a curry not a side dish like im used to. You should get a whole potato in there in my opinion not just a few little chunks. Same goes for the jalfrezi. Little chunks of what i have to say very tender and tasty chicken breast, just a shame there wasnt a little bit more. My main problem was the popadoms, although they tasted good One portion was 4 i was told. I didnt realise it would be 1 popadom cut into 4 id have ordered 5 if id have known and at a €1 each it is expensive. Im used to paying 50p each and getting 5 free. Also the dips weren't the best, the red onion chutney tasted of ketchup and the other 2 were a bit bland. Compared to indian restaurants in england this would be a very good one. I make bir curries myself so i know exactly how they are made. If i was in Roda in the future i would most certainly...
Read moreThe Red Chilli Indian Restaurant is located on the main road into Road. It is large and spacious inside. Price and food wise it was about average but could not give it the glowing marks as "The best Indian Ever" that some seem to have given it. The curry's themselves were not bad taste wise but in the chicken version we had the chick was a little on the rubbery side and whilst still edible it was not of the same quality that we would get at home. There was also not that much chicken in the meals hence only the average for the prices.
Even though there was only another two tables in the restaurant when we arrived the service was very much on the slow side. We were told it was due to the chefs making the meals individually but to be honest it seemed very like the chicken was cooked and pre-prepared sauce put over it. If not then they would really struggle if the restaurant was full.
If you want something different from the standard Greek fare then give it a go. Its not awful and it...

We were on our 2 week holiday and just fancied something different to eat. We read the other brilliant reviews about this restaurant and thought we would give it a go. We were staying about 20minutes drive away but it was certainly worth the drive.
I will admit I am quite fussy when it comes to my food and I have also been lucky enough to experience food all over the world and I have to say this is one of the best curries I have ever had. The chicken Bhuna was out of this world - the flavours were amazing and you could taste all the different ingredients. Absolutely first class. My husband and children also loved their dishes - Dhansak, Masala and Pakora.
The other thing that made this experience second to none was the hospitality. Anne (front of house) was an absolute star - friendly and accommodating. And the chef also came and asked us if we were happy with our food.
And enormous thank you and please come and visit this restaurant when you...
