We initially chose Gallery Suites & Residences Piraeus for its close proximity to the port, as we were catching a ferry to Milos. We ended up staying here both before our departure and again after returning, and we're so glad we did. On both check-ins, we were warmly welcomed by the front desk staff. Despite arriving early in the morning (around 9 AM), they kindly arranged for a recently vacated room to be cleaned immediately so we could get some much-needed rest after a long international flight. We hadn’t even asked, they just went out of their way to accommodate us. Originally, we only expected to store our bags until check-in, but their hospitality exceeded all expectations. While we waited, we explored the area, located our ferry gate, and visited a few local restaurants recommended by the staff. The hotel is surrounded by great food options and is an easy walk from the port. The room was spotless, featured a nice balcony, and the rooftop terrace was peaceful and relaxing, which was perfect for a quiet moment above the city. We were actually headed to Milos to get married, and on our return stay, we were scrambling to pack and catch a flight. In the rush, we accidentally left my wife’s wedding dress in the room. We didn’t realize it until we were already at the airport, stressed and out of time. Incredibly, within five minutes of us noticing, the front desk called to say they had found the dress. We couldn’t return, but they worked with us from abroad and arranged to ship the dress safely to our home in the U.S. We travel frequently and don’t always take the time to leave reviews, but when a hotel delivers this level of service and care, it deserves to be recognized. Without a doubt, if we return to Piraeus to travel to any other Greek islands, Gallery Suites & Residences will be our go-to choice. Thank you again for making our trip smoother, kinder, and more memorable than we...
Read moreMy son and I stayed for 7 nights from 16th to 23rd April. The Gallery Suites & Residences is an excellent base for a visit to Athens, the Athens Coast and the islands of the Saronic Gulf. We ventured as far as Glyfada by tram and also took a ferry to Aegina. Athens city centre is less than 30 minutes away by metro, with the station less than 5 minutes walk from the hotel. We loved the hustle and bustle of Athens, but it was actually quite relaxing to come back here in the evening after a busy day of sightseeing. Plus, Piraeus itself is well worth exploring, with some great, relatively inexpensive restaurants around the two main marina areas. The hotel is located at the end of a quiet street near the port. It is very modern and has all the facilities you need for a short stay. The rooms were super clean and comfortable with excellent air conditioning and walk-in shower. The roof terrace was a nice place to sit snd relax in the evening. A special mention must go to the reception staff who were all excellent, but especially Marialena, Konstantina and Theo who always seemed to be on duty when we needed advice and tips on places to visit, local transport and places to eat. They were friendly and enthusiastic young people who are a credit to your company. If we make the trip from Scotland again, we would not hesitate to...
Read moreOn arrival the people checking-in in front of us were being redirected to a 4 star hotel just around the corner. When we tried to check in they explained that they had a power problem and couldn't supply the room we had booked. But then they tried to relocate us to a 2 star hotel a 20 minute walk away. Having an early ferry which I wanted to be close to I refused and asked for a refund. We were asked to wait for a manager. Whilst we waited other people arrived and were checked in. When the manager arrived we were then immediately shown to the 4 star hotel just round the corner which was fine and resolved the problem. What was totally unacceptable was being pressed to go to a hotel a long way away (they offered a taxi to get there even) - when other guests were either given a room or moved to an equivalent hotel nearby.
Why were we treated differently from other guests? Why did we have to complain to be able to stay in an equivalent hotel nearby?
Very disappointed and we can't recommend this hotel, although the one we were moved to was really lovely - the Mitsis N'U Piraeus - so my advice is just...
