I was searching for a hotel room for one night. The next morning I needed to go to the cruise Terminal B. I found the Phidias Hotel to have a good price, (other guests wrote that it is clean) and a location close to a metro station. From the airport Athens I took the Metro No 3 to the end station "Town Theatre". This was only 9 Euro instead of an airport transfer for approx 40 - 60 Euro. From the Metro it was only an easy 7min walk to the hotel. The Welcome at the reception was warm and friendly. The room was spacious, clean and the bed very comfortable. Everything I was looking for. Just around the corner is the Piraeus Marina where the gentleman at the reception recommended to eat at restaurant named Kali Pita. It was delicious. But best thing was (and I did not know this before), the receptionist ask me if I needed a shuttle to the port. Free of charge! The hotel is offering this to all guests. So the next morning I was brought directly to the cruise Terminal B. All over my stay here was just perfect and I recommend the Phidias Piraeus Hotel to everyone, no matter if one or more nights.

We were checked in and given a guest room that should never be a guest room. The only guest room on the ground floor.. half way tucked like a broom closet under the stairs. This room was in the lobby so we were kept awake all night with loud guests in the lobby, crying babies brought out from guest rooms to not disturb guest floors, etc. Any travelers using the stairs shook us in the room. The worst was breakfast… preparation started at 5a, with staff yelling and loud banging of doors and plates and dragging of tables and chairs 5 feet from our heads. In the pic you can see, There is a bathroom on the left, a staff door to the kitchen is the next door on the left, and that door at the end was ours. With a head of a bed only 4 feet from the door. It was a sleepless night and a horrible choice to make that space a guest room. I brought this to their attention and the hotel did not care to repair this experience.

May 2024 Review. Convenient hotel for a cruise. Paid 75 Euro for a taxi ride here from Athens airport. Hotel is very strict about starting the check-in process right at 2pm, not earlier. If you arrive early you can leave your luggage at the lobby area and walk around town, or you can sit and wait at the lobby. Lots of chairs and there is a coffee machine for complimentary coffee. They offer a free shuttle to get to your cruise line. Just make arrangements for the time you'd like to get shuttled from the hotel. It's a 10 minute ride. They offered breakfast for 9 Euros now, starting at 5:30am. We got their largest room. It's got a queen bed and two narrow beds and a balcony. Good for 4 people. They offer complimentary wifi and phone for local calls. They have one elevator, but it's tight, maybe fits 4 standing people without luggage. Multiple trips needed if you have lots of luggage.

Top notch service, great location, wonderful staff, newly renovated room, complementary shuttle service to port

Upon my arrival, I was warmly and courteously greeted by George at the reception. He offered a map of the area and useful information about supermarkets, restaurants, bakeries, etc in the area as well as the complementary shuttle service to the port. He brought my luggage up to my newly renovated room. The lobby, the hallway, the elevator and the room were all extremely clean. The bathroom was very spacious. The rest of the room was more than enough for one person. The brand new double bed was comfortable and so were the pillows. There was a door that opened from the room onto a fairly big balcony area with a neighbourhood view, where you could sit outside and enjoy some fresh air. The location of the hotel itself was rather convenient for access to eateries and the marina. Lovely area to walk along the waterfront. The Archaeological Museum of Piraeus, the new Piraeus metro terminal, the theatre, among other sights, are all within walking distance The next morning I opted in for the hot breakfast for EUR 9. The spread was more than sufficient to start the day and it was laid out early enough for me to enjoy my breakfast before heading out at 06:30 to catch a ferry at the port. The cook was very accommodating, making some plain potatoes on the side to cater for my dietary restrictions. The shuttle left promptly at 06:30 and the driver kindly assisted with the luggage. He stopped exactly at the ferry gate that I needed to be at so I really didn't have any walking to do. Overall an efficient, hospitable, convenient, comfortable, seamless experience for a one night stay prior to catching the ferry. I would highly recommend this hotel and would stay there again, whether for one...

A Hotel with no heart 😢 After the few years we have all had with Covid!!. I decided to book a family holiday back to the UK and a cruise leaving from Athens. After a lot of reading reviews I decided to book this hotel through Expedia. Yes I decided to book, late at night and unfortunately did not double check my dates and accidentally booked March instead of May. Within 5 mins of my booking I realised and contacted Expedia straight away, who tried to assist in asking the hotel to change my dates. However to my surprise the hotel were happier keeping my money and not assisting with a change. I did call the hotel on several occasions and found the front desk lady to be very abrupt. It’s sad that an Australian family have decided to support this hotel, to which you think they would be ever so grateful as times have been hard for us all. But instead I have been left with no accomodation and loss of my money. Where has human kindness gone ?? I have travelled the world and have never experienced a hotel that would not even try and accomodate us. Apparently the hotel is full but there are rooms available though numerous hotel companies. So I guess I cannot comment on the hotel as I have not been there but I guess from how I have been treated, you may want to think twice about booking and maybe find another hotel that...

I am a female over 65 who travels solo, so service and security are very important. The night I arrived, my ferry was over 2 hours late and their arranged driver was no longer available at 03:00A. I sent them a message from the ferry through booking.com which they answered within 10 minutes. They said to grab any cab at the port and they would pay the driver direct. I did, and when we pulled up to the hotel, the night manager was standing on the front steps to greet and pay the driver.

The small hotel is recently renovated with an incredible amount of detail. There are TWO triple glazed sliding doors to the small balcony eliminating street noise.

The room was perfect with high quality linens, great pillows, a hot pot and a little nespresso maker. Bathroom fixtures all new. Amazing blackout drapes.

Breakfast was 9€ for an excellent spread including eggs, bacon, potato’s, mushrooms, toast and fruit. Also a cappucino machine!

The pretty harbor for rich people’s sailboats is a 3 minute walk with many excellent restaurants.

*For solo travelers plan ahead and get a solo room - I stayed for 60€/night.

It’s only a 3 minute walk also to the X96 bus stop - an express ride to the airport for 6€!!! But they still gave me a ride since I had...
