The location is great, the hotel is directly at the beach and the pools are just a few steps away from the sea.
Decoration of the room was not very modern but it does not really matter as the beds were comfortable.
Friendly and helpful staff (maybe except one guy at the reception).
Food was not amazing but definitely quite good for an all-inclusive buffet. There were always some delicious options. Try to choose the Greek dishes. There is also an ala carte option for 5€ extra where you can try lots of Cretan dishes. We liked the food there a lot.
We did not like the red wine (but the white was fine) that was served for free for the all-inclusive option. But there are a lot of other wines one can pay for.
Strangely, beach towels or sunbeds at the beach are not included, even with all-inclusive. But there are plenty of sunbeds by the pool which is a few steps away from the sand.
Last but not least, IF YOU ARE BOOKING WITH TUI: the photos of the rooms are not correct. They show rooms with a nice seaview but in fact if it is written side seaview (which is the case at the moment for all rooms available by TUI ) you might not have any seaview from the room at all but only from your balcony. Also they are not very clear about the all inclusive rules. E.g. the bar is only serving all-inclusive until 22:30.
Overall we liked it and would consider staying again if we...
Read moreWe left Geraniotis today 17 June 2023. This hotel was just perfect!
All staff were super friendly and helpful.
Room was nice and spacious. Big and comfy bed, massive wardrobe, living room with 2 big sofas, TV with plenty of channels, mini kitchen (which we did not use much cause we had all-inclusive). Big balcony with table and chairs, and a big bathroom. Both rooms (bedroom & living room) had ceiling fans which was nice on those hot days when we did not want to use Air conditioner (P. S. Bedroom has Air conditioner).
All-inclusive was perfect with a great variety of foods and drinks (hats off to the chefs). Pool bar was the best at evenings with bartender Mr. Stelios G. (He shall remember me as Mr Gin & Tonic :))
The outside of hotel is just wonderful. The beach is right there on your door step :) Geraniotis team are doing amazing job at keeping the garden so green and colourful with trees and flowers. Hotel has two separate pools, volleyball net, football (soccer) goals and table tennis - enough to keep you busy in case you get bored. There is also a mini shop in the hotel where you can buy snacks, drinks, towels, balls, hats, sunglasses etc. also there is a free parking.
Platanias will be missed!
Thanks to everyone at Geraniotis for making this...
Read moreWent her with my family in July 2025 and the hotel did not disappoint. They did try to put us in a family room even though we had booked to separate hotel rooms but that was sorted out after the first night. The hotel has a unique location/area with a part of the beach that feels private. I walk along the beach and looked at all the other hotels and Geraniotis stands out with their open green area. Sun beds on the green area is free and close to a nice pool and the pool bar. Sun beds are taken quite early so you will have to get up before 9 if you want sunbeds. We had all inclusive and the food was overall more than good enough for the whole family- for all meals. The training room was a little bit of a disappointment and really only has a two treadmills and a few light dumbbells. On the other hand they have table tennis so bring your own rackets. Service was over all very good, one grumpy old guy in the reception - but he was the exception. Be aware that there is a breeze all day so the sun does not feel as hot. A few days with a bit stronger wind and the beach was closed for swimming due to big waves (that are teens loved). The place was peaceful, no traffic noice, loud music or loud guest. Will...
