The apartments are easily accessed by car up a hill from the centre of Kolymbari and there is easy parking outside. Not too many steps as it's only two floors from the street side to the top floor. Our corner apartment had wide views over the village and distant sea - 5 minutes walk down into the main crossroads for a supermarket and bank and 5 mins in the other direction down to the main seaside part of the village for sea and restaurants. There's a small terrace with furniture outsde. All in all, very practical and comfortable for a week in Kolymbari although the kitchen isn't really equipped for any substantial cooking, just tea, coffee, making a sandwich or something (there is a cooker if you were really keen). The only thing that let it down really is that it obviously just got a quick rush round with a mop and a bedding change between quests - everything in the kitchen had a layer of grease on it, handles, surfaces etc, the cabinets were covered in greasy fingerprints and the fridge had old spillages in it, the bathroom was worse with everything covered in limescale, a filthy bath and bathmat and a truly revolting mouldy grubby shower curtain. Only six apartments with a good pool and a large area with umbrellas, deck chairs, barbecue and play area for children. The pool and the rest of the complex clean. One double room, and other room with two beds for children. Very spacious lounge together with a large kitchen with a refrigerator, coffee maker, washing machine and everything you need to start the holidays and the odd detail of Manolis, the owner.||Two air conditioners one in each bedroom, though being on a hill, usually do not normally use. Five minutes walk to town and five others drive to link the national highway.||Excellent to know the area west and southwest of the island, Chania, Balos, Elafonisi, Falassarna (20 minutes), Kissamos, Agia Triada. The distance to the airport takes about 45 minutes without haste, by good road.||INKA Carrefour and supermarket in town, and an excellent bakery next to the bank of Chania.||The owner, Manolis, will make you feel like part of your family. The appartments are very clean, spacious and comfortable with 3 balconies, a well-equiped kitchen and washing machine in the bathroom. Appartments are cleaned and sheets are changed regularly. The building is located in a quiet area, has a lovely garden with swimming pool and sun beds. Manolis, the owner, is a most friendly, helpful and generous man. Upon arrival we received a bottle of olive oil, raki and water as a welcome. ||||Kolymbari itself is not a very touristic town, but the shops and some good restaurants are located within walking distance of the appartment. Also, you can easily travel from and to Chania by public bus.
