Art Cafe — Restaurant in Municipality of Platanias

We went to have brunch. Unfortunately, there were no pre-compiled offers but every pancake/crepe must be compiled which makes it pricey rather quickly adding every ingredient. The special omelette at 12€ was too expensive for the area in my view, elsewhere the same costs bit more than half that. In the end we paid almost 30€ for one portion of pancakes with four toppings, the special omelette, a cappuccino and an orange juice. In other places in Crete we dined wonderfully for that money and ate meat… It’s not that it was bad (nothing exceptional though) but the price-quality ratio is...

Stumbled on this whilst on holiday. Only a few minutes walk from centre of village. Very friendly staff and polite, one spoke better English than other but was no problem. Excellent menu, not over priced. Bacon cheeseburgers with chips 10 Euros. Beer and other drinks fairly priced. Food was excellent quality. My partner twisted her ankle on a step, not serious but lady brought her a bag of ice and was genuinely concerned. We will be going back for waffles and coffee, can't recommend Art Cafe...

Unfortunately a very bad experience. I ordered a pizza Margherita. At first sight, I was not sure about the smell of the cheese, thinking it was certainly a local cheese I didn't know. Two hours later I was extremely sick, it was literally food poisoning. We called the café to warn them about this. We hope nobody else will be in the same situation.
