First of all, we would like to thank the staff of Amira hotel for all the effort for a comfortable stay at the hotel.||||Our stay from 22 September to 2 October. To be honest, we have no words to describe how professional the staff is. The management ensures that everything is in tip top condition||||this was our first time in crete. Normally we fly to Asia a lot and we have stayed in many hotels from 4 to 5 star hotels, but this is our first time staying in a 5 star hotel with such good service. From the first day and during our stay till the last day the staff is very heart-warming and helpful.||||What is very nice is that there are many elderly people who stay here, instead screaming families or children’s or those on a low budget, at the end of the day this hotel is not for those who are on a budget.You can swim there all day long, the pool is often cold and should actually be heated, which is why most guests go to the beach. Its not a big deal. 2 meter aways we had a lovely beach with all day free diving. The day of checking we also received welcome drink which we also dint expect at all. The food is amazing!!! Lot of variety of foods and what also surprised us is the buffet in the evening, The buffet is changed every day, so you never had the same food every day. The rooms are also verry clean, everything works fine from airco to bathroom no any complains||||The only problem whas :||||What was very annoying is that there are clear rules regarding the dress code and yet we saw, especially in the last 3 days, that people were wearing caps wich wasn’t alloud by the hotel policy. To make matters worse, Amira hotel used someone who promoted the hotel trough insta and they post it on their own facebook as a story. This whas a young couple looks about 18 years who walked around the restaurant dressed inappropriate, at least you could see what kind of underwear she was wearing wich is verry Inappropriate. These 2 young children’s also trying to slip into the front of the queue everytime at the buffet to the irritation of other guests. I strongly urged these young anoying couple to stop this nonsense immediately and told them directly to go back and wait in the queue . This is also why amira hotel should not use this kind of Instagram promoters. They always think they can do whatever they whant. they were in a suite on the first floor and it is suspected that they received a big discount for this in exchange for promoting wich now caused a lot of trouble and thinking they can do whatever they want, Its impossible that this kind of young kids are able to pay the full amount of the suite on the first floor. This well known promotors influencers are always causing lot of problems, here in france, germany and netherlands whe call them “trouble makers whant everything free”, specially when i notice they start recording people without any permission.|||| I don’t think amira hotel need this kind of promoters. You guys are amazing, everybody knows this. The reviews are here in the internet is enough proof. It is well known that these young types of Instagrammers who want everything for free cause a lot of problems and in my opinion these types of young people do not belong in this hotel among all those older people who visiting for a relax vacation. ||||There were elderly people I spoke to who were not happy about this. I told them to report this to reception. Unfortunately, not everyone does that. We had reported this. The idea is that the people standing at the door probably are afraid to say anything to refuse these types of people at the door from the restaurant. There are clear rules and as a guest you should respect the rules and the culture wich are not always follow up by some people, especially among young teens.||Because we had such a good experience with amira, apart from the people not following the dress code the rules in the restaurant, we are already looking for next year 2025 but sadly the prices from the airliners are...
Read more*We have one night left of our 5 night stay (not long enough!!) but I’m writing it now as I suspect I will run out of time once I’m back home and I really want people to know how amazing this place is and how lucky you’d be to visit!
Having recently opened and no reviews to read before arriving, I was a little apprehensive but from the second we arrived at Amira, we knew we’d struck gold. First, everything is of course BRAND NEW and absolutely BEAUTIFUL. So much attention has gone in the the detailing of this hotel. It’s beautiful clean, tidy and it’s neutral tones give everything that luxury feel to it. They’ve thought of everything down to comfy and long beach towels to a variety of high quality plastic glasses shaped for different cocktails to enjoy by the pool. We arrived at about 1am as our flight was delayed, we were greeted with some welcome drinks and a cool towel which was much needed! They’d even thought to put a complimentary dinner/snack in our room in case we hadn’t eaten which we thought was very kind.
Granted, there are one or two finishing touches happening but not one of these impacted us negatively nor were we ever disturbed by any noise for maintenance or Construction. They are just quietly getting on with these bits. I personally think it’s understandable with the way of the world at the moment and many delays to products I am sure would have been out of the hotel’s control.
Our room was 465 which was a sea view and you could watch the sun setting beautifully from the balcony. The lower levels have swim up rooms which look beautiful. I’d like to try one of those next time (yes, it was that good I want to return!). Not all rooms have a sea view although I think the majority must do so if you want it then make sure you request it.
If you like the pool and the beach then you have the option of both with the beach being just steps away. By the pool has a lovely snack bar serving really good bar snacks and lunches throughout the day. You can enjoy these in the bar itself or at your sun beds. I’d highly recommend the Greek salad.
The pool is stunning. It’s a great size and swings right round in to the most beautiful infinity pool which the sun also sets in to if your hang around long enough in to the evening. Chilled music is played throughout the day.
Food wise, currently there are three eateries. I’m not sure if there are plans for more or not. The breakfast buffet is varied and changes daily there is absolutely something for everyone. It’s well presented and really tasty. This is where the evening dinner buffet is which is included in half board. I’ve talked about the pool snack bar and then there is a well placed restaurant overlooking the sea and the sunset. As a guest you get about 30% off here. The food here was pretty impeccable. Huge portions though so be careful! If you like squid then the grilled squid starter is one of the best we’ve ever had!
On site there is a new fitness suite and a beautiful spa with a variety of treatments available. I haven’t tried it yet but I might squeeze in a massage tomorrow…
I’d like to give a special mention to: Ellie (who just has the biggest smile, works so hard and is genuinely brilliant at what she does), Isabella (again always smiling, so friendly and she recommended to me the most delicious Greek wine), Jessica (for always keeping the drinks topped up at the pool and then a lovely lady I didn’t catch the name of (blond hair, sometimes tied in a bun, often at the restaurant by the sea but sometimes in the buffet). All the staff were amazing, each giving exemplary service and smiles. It was the staff that made our experience extra special and make Amira the place it is.
