A wonderful holiday we were staying at the hotel for 8 days, a family of 3 people. It is a fairly large complex with apartments. We were accommodated for 10 minutes, being welcomed at the reception with a smile and good mood. Being at the hotel at 9:40 this morning, we were proposed to break, then to accommodate a fine and pleasant gesture. The hotel's common areas are clean, tastefully decorated, especially the green areas of the complex. The staff is kind and welcomes you with a smile. The chambers were clean, towels changed daily, cleanliness in the room was daily. Some furniture items may require changed (a bit old), yet absolutely everything was functional. However, I came to the sea to stay on the beach not in the room. There is no hairdryer in room, an important device for ladies, especially. Gel and limited soap, it's good if you take home or buy additional from nearby market. Beach and swimming pool The hotel is in the first line, the beach is very close (1 min). The hotel also has two swimming pools, both clean and well organized. Swimming pool loungers are free at the beach + towel 2.5 Euro for a day you can easily reserve a sun lounger at the pool, after swimming and relaxing you can relax at the pool. Note Bene: Free towels are not provided. The water is very clean and warm (22-29 July), there are no industrial areas or ports, it is quiet. The pool bar has a wide variety of beverages: cocktails (very well-prepared, tasty), wine, beer, non-alcoholic beverages. At certain time intervals, frozen is available in several assortments. Music at the pool is pleasant, tastefully chosen. In a specific clock regime, you can dine, a rich assortment of dishes (is considered snacks, but it is more than Snack) particularly friendly staff, always ready to help you and offer the highest quality services, especially the bartender - a true professional. The restaurant a special place, where a lot of dedication, work, knowledge and love is made to be at the highest level. The atmosphere and the very pleasant decoration. Particularly kind staff, always ready to offer the best services, all speak English. Even if during meals is a higher flow of guests, staff manages to manage the process in such a way that everyone has free meal. The dishes are sensational: a large variety of dishes for all tastes and desires: chicken, pork, fish, sea products, pasta, fresh vegetables and grilled vegetables / prepared very tasty, yogurt (morning in a few assortments), Sweets, coffee, tea, juices, flat and carbonated water, beer and wine. All freshly fresh, very delicious food and served wonderful - a real art. Thanks and praise the chef and the chefs team and the staff of the restaurant for the highest standards. Things that require improvement - the internet is weak, on the beach is not a general connection. In the room the same connection. - a location for workout, sports area, table tennis, basketball, etc. would be required.

Love holidays changed our hotel last minute and we ended up in Jo an beach. There was only one bar meaning you had to walk up from the beach and pool to get a drink. Ridiculous in the heat. The dinner hall was very small and it was always a struggle to get a table and you often had to queue. When you could get a seat you couldn’t get moved for people and you often had to ask people to tuck their chairs in which was difficult when no one spoke English there. When you did get to the bar you often had to wait a long time for a drink. The all inclusive drinks were 5 cocktails and flat beer. Terrible. You are not allowed to take drinks to your room. Never heard this in any other hotel. There was no entertainment on and no music even at the small pool. This hotel is for people aged 60 plus. Do not go here if you are young and want to have fun. The hotel is in the middle of no were. The bus only comes once an hour as and when it feels like it. We wasted £800 for this holiday. To leave the hotel and you have to pay 80 euro is terrible aswell. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel for anyone.

"We had a fantastic holiday, spending 8 days at this hotel with our family of three. The hotel is a large complex with apartments, and the check-in process was quick and welcoming, with friendly smiles at the reception. We arrived early in the morning at 9:40 am, and they pleasantly surprised us with an early check-in option. The hotel's common areas, especially the beautifully landscaped green spaces, were well-maintained and aesthetically pleasing. The staff was always kind and greeted us with warmth.

Our rooms were clean, and housekeeping did an excellent job of providing fresh towels daily and maintaining the room's cleanliness throughout our stay. While some furniture items appeared a bit dated, they were fully functional, and we didn't spend much time indoors since we came for the beach experience. It's worth noting that there was no hairdryer in the room, which could be important for some guests, particularly ladies. Additionally, the in-room toiletries were limited, so it's advisable to bring personal supplies or purchase additional items from nearby stores.

The hotel's location was perfect, right by the beach (just 1 minute away). We also enjoyed the well-maintained swimming pools, where we could relax after a swim. Keep in mind that while beach sun loungers were complimentary, there was a nominal fee of 2.5 Euros per day to reserve a sun lounger by the pool. Unfortunately, they didn't provide free towels at the pool or beach, so it's wise to bring your own.

The beach was beautiful, and the water was clean and pleasantly warm during our stay in late July. The peaceful surroundings were free from industrial sites or ports, providing a tranquil atmosphere. The poolside bar offered a diverse selection of beverages, including well-prepared cocktails, wines, beers, and non-alcoholic drinks. They also served refreshing frozen treats at specific intervals, making poolside relaxation even more enjoyable. The background music at the pool was tastefully chosen, adding to the pleasant ambiance.

The hotel's restaurant was a highlight, and it was evident that the team put in great effort, knowledge, and passion to provide exceptional service. The restaurant's atmosphere was delightful, and the staff was always attentive and friendly. The fact that they all spoke English fluently was a bonus for international guests. Despite the higher number of guests during meal times, the staff efficiently managed the flow, ensuring everyone had a pleasant dining experience.

The restaurant's menu was impressive, offering a wide variety of dishes to suit all tastes and preferences. From chicken, pork, and fish to seafood, pasta, fresh vegetables, and grilled items, the culinary options were delectable. They also had various assortments of yogurt, sweets, coffee, tea, juices, flat and carbonated water, beer, and wine, all served fresh and of excellent quality. Big thanks to the chef, kitchen team, and restaurant staff for maintaining such high standards.

While we had an overall fantastic experience, there were a couple of areas that could be improved. The internet connection in the rooms and on the beach was weak, and it would be beneficial to enhance the connectivity throughout the property. Additionally, introducing a designated area for sports and recreational activities, such as a workout facility, table tennis, or basketball, would further enhance the guests' overall enjoyment and...

My husband and I had an amazing two weeks staying at Jo-An Beach Hotel. The staff are some of the most friendly, welcoming and attentive people we have ever had the pleasure to meet whilst on holiday. Nothing was too much trouble.

Our room could probably do with a bit of an update, however it was clean, very functionable and the bed was more comfortable than our one at home! A hairdryer was provided. The housekeeping lady did a wonderful job every day. I lost count of the number of times our sheets and towels were changed.

The food was amazing. Breakfast consisted of cold meats, yoghurt, a wide selection of fruit, bread and croissants, along with a large array of hot food, plus tea, coffee, hot chocolate and juices. Lunch and dinner included beautiful salads, soup, a wide variety of cuisine to choose from for a main course, as well as a number of desserts and fruit. All tastes are very well catered for. Children are particularly well looked after by the wide variety of food on offer. No one will go hungry.

The hotel itself and surrounding areas were very clean and well kept. The two bars offer a well stocked list of wines, beer, spirits and cocktails. There are two swimming pools, both with a small cordoned off area for young children. Whilst the pools are not particularly big, they are very clean. The hotel sits right on the sandy beach where you can pay 2.50 Euros for a sun lounger. Sun loungers by the pools are free. Beach towels are available for 2.50 Euros for the course of your stay.

The biggest assets to this hotel are the staff and food (as mentioned above) and also the location. There are plenty of shops and supermarkets within walking distance, and also restaurants if you fancy a change. The public bus stop to Rethymno is a one minute walk from the hotel and costs 1.20 Euros per trip regardless of how far you are travelling. We booked all our trips through Klados who have a branch (bright orange) just two minutes from the hotel. They offer a wide range of trips and we could not fault their service and standard of coaches. They are very prompt and be warned, they do not wait for latecomers. If you are not at the pick-up point at the stated time, they will leave without you (having tried to call you first).

We had a wonderful holiday and will definitely...
