A great establishment. I initially searched for a place to take a break during car journey between HeraklionChania and amongst browsing Google maps we found Nalu. The rest of the places in the area seemed quite average and therefore in my mind lacking said Greek authenticity. Upon entry we were greeted quite quickly by owner Kiki who has such a beautiful and bubbly energy and got the jokes as well, you can tell loves what she does. There is a inside seating area, bar seating, outdoor canopy covered table area as well as beachfront sunbeds etc.. food and drinks are priced adequately and worth your buck. The chips are astounding and few images and reviews was one of the things which drew us to stop by this place. This was a boys trip for the simple things in life but we are definitely returning tomorrow with the full family for a proper sit down meal and holiday enjoyment. Thanks a lot Kiki for the great experience!
Update:
We returned as promised & with a family party of 11 including 2 teenagers for a birthday meal and everyone was suppery happy with the place we had chosen. This time we ordered food and Kiki kindly asked us to wait as she rearranged the tables to accomodate without hesitation.
Superb cocktails, ice cold draughts & pop for the kids ordered first then food menu's delivered. The food was loved across the board, juicy & large burgers, souvlaki & a 5* packed out mixed grill for 2 which was delicious & a big plate for your buck; ceasar salad, pasta's & seafood, those amazing chips (potato).
Kiki went above and beyond by bringing out slices of the lightest cake and cream for the birthday accompanied by shots for...
Read moreWe waited nearly 2 hours for food we sat down and ordered at 8:30 and food was not brought to our table till 10:15pm. The waitress was aggressive there was only 1 tables in there and she said that it was full and that’s why we had to wait. The food came out cold and the seafood platter was inedible as it wasn’t cooked. We complained and asked for that to be taken off the bill which they did. When they came to pay she told us the bill was €196 we added it up off the menu and it came to €143. We were trying to pay for over 30 minutes they then added the bill up again and came to €175. As I stayed to pay the rest of our group wanted to leave, while I continued to pay. The chef came out and chased them with a frying pan saying they couldn’t leave even though I was still there waving my card asking to pay and one tried to hit my friend and had to call the police and make a report. Do not go here. They turned away a family 40 minutes after they ordered food saying they couldn’t serve them. It was disastrous. The chef blamed us saying he was only one man but perhaps they need to reevaluate their staffing issues and take some courses in...
Read moreIf I could give Nalu Beach Restaurant 15 stars 🌟 I absolutely would! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed like old friends — or even family. The atmosphere was full of warmth and genuine kindness 💕 Now, about the food… oh my goodness! It felt like eating at your mum’s or best friend’s house — everything cooked with love, big portions, simple but incredibly tasty! Every bite was full of heart and home comfort 🥰 The lovely lady who runs the place never stops — always smiling, full of energy, and spreading good vibes all around. And what makes it even more special is that during the winter, she runs her own olive farm 🌿🫒 The olive oil she uses in her dishes is homemade — you can truly taste the difference, it’s pure magic! ✨ This place is not just a restaurant, it’s a feeling — one you’ll never forget. I can easily recommend it to everyone I know. You must try it...
