Lilys villa Lemonia — Hotel in Municipality of Rethymnon

This was maybe the best find we had so far of any vacation. The villa is just perfect. The rooms are clean, new and modern. The kitchen has everything you need. Two coffee machines, toaster, microwave, dish washer, everything's there. And it's not just the old stuff the owner seemed to have sorted out of their own kitchen like we often had it in the past. Every item, may it be the pans or the knives is absolutely fine.

Don't feel like going out in the evening and watch TV instead? Find a huge TV and a comfy sofa in the living room. Want to sip a coffee and enjoy the view? You have plenty of options around the garden, in the kitchen or on the balcony. And you will find a place in the shadow under the brutal crete sun.

Now the swimming pool... This thing is the main reason we barely did any sight seeing :) We enjoyed it so much being able to swim and play in the water right next to our drinks and food from our own kitchen and listening to our music. It was so much more comfortable than packing everything together and driving to the beach. You are away from the masses and really have your privacy and can enjoy the silence and the view over the sea. The pool is a salt water pool by the way. That means you don't smell of chlorine after swimming. Look it up, it's amazing.

Your host Lily is a gem. She made us feel at home from the very first second. Even before we arrived we got a lot of handy information about the house and the area. She greeted us like friends and whenever we had questions, she was available right away. You can really feel that Lily is not just pushing tourists through the vacation season. You know that she is putting her heart and soul into this and thought everything through, so that her visitors have their best time. And we did. We stayed at Lily’s villa Lemonia last month & throughly recommend the villa, hospitality & location. Before we went Lily was in contact with lots of local information & recommendations & helped with hiring a car & intial airport transfer. Arrival at the villa was amazing with seeing that sunset from the large balcony upstairs & the stunning meal Lily had prepared & set out on the terrace with candles. The food was absolutely delicious with lovely extras she had kindly made for us. We also took her up on the offer of stocking up on supermarket supplies. Our teenagers were straight in the pool that night & we enjoyed the local music from the nearby town. You can easily walk to local restaurants in about 10-15 minutes depending on heat & footwear! A little further walk and you’ll find Platanias with plenty of restaurants & beach bars. Easy to get a taxi or bus into Rethmnon too. Lily’s villa really is well equipped with everything you need including the outdoor gym & hammock. We will never forget that view from the upstairs balcony in the morning & at sunset. This is the second time we have stayed at Lily's Villa Lemonia. We stayed 12 months ago when the villa was brand new and it was really fantastic. This year with the garden now maturing, the outdoor gym and hammock in the olive trees is truly wonderful. The villa has everything you need and more and Lily and her son George are the perfect hosts. Lily really is a people person and makes you feel so welcome it feels like being at home. The location is perfect with wonderful views over Rethimno and the sea, very private while at the same time being only 10 minutes from Rethimno town and very close to beaches and restaurants. Sitting on the balcony with a cold drink and looking at the lights of Rethimno is magical. Already booked with Lily for next year and can't wait to see her and family and enjoy another fantastic holiday on a wonderful island of Crete with so many things to see and do.
