Poseidon Hotel — Hotel in Municipality of Rethymnon

Our stay in Poseidon was highly pleasant.

There was indeed nice view from our balcony, every morning we saw beautiful seaside,

Rooms clean and spacious (one AC contact was not working, beds were ok, but a little bit old and squeaky),

Staff very kind and helpful, totally non-problematic,

Non-soundproof, so combined with squeaky beds you should be ready to hear your neighbors :)

Breakfasts:

(+) I'm used to buffet breakfasts, but in Poseidon breakfasts are served - and it is totally ok, because our meals were fine, every morning we got (per person):1 black coffee/tea (with 2 optional cream), 2 rolls, 1 toast, 1 slice of cheese, 1 slice of ham, 1 glass of fresh-squeezed orange juice with ice (delicious), egg (you can choose in what form you want your egg to be served - boiled/scrambled/omlet etc.), some butter, hazelnut cream, jams, seasonings and yoghurt with honey. For me - enough to be satisfied with breakfast.

(-) Greece and Crete are known for their delicious fruits and vegetables, and we only got 2 slices of tomato and 2 slices of cucumber - and only if you choosed omlet option.

(+/-) Breakfasts are served 8:00 - 10:00, so when we bought a trip that begins at 8:00 (most of the trips you buy on Crete starts at this hour) we had to ask staff if we can eat a little bit earlier - we all agreed that 7:30 will be fine - but we had to eat in a...

We spent 12 days at the Poseidon Hotel. We booked it because it was in front of the sea but soon we realised that this hotel is much more than “only” having a nice seaview (which is actually stunning). We felt really comfortable and after every trip it felt like coming home when we got back to the hotel. The rooms are very clean and have a nice bathroom. The breakfast is delicious( fresh orange juice, eggs, bread, yoghurt with honey and fresh fruits...).The sea is very close and there are free sunbeds. The beach was clean and the staff of the beach service was very kind and always in a good mood. The cocktails are delicious and they have best Raki of Crete;)||The Poseidon hotel is a family company managed with so much love. They do their best to make their guests feel comfortable and welcome.||In the Morning Alex and Maria are there to fulfill every wish (when we couldn’t have breakfast because we went to a trip early in the morning they prepared sandwiches for us), in the afternoon Apostolis and his team are there for you to have a good time at the beach and in the evening/night you can enjoy the best Cocktails of Rethymno made by Andreas. ||The Poseidon Hotel felt like home and we will definitely come back!
