This is a long, in-depth review but please read it if you are considering staying here when in Rhodes. ||Where do I start? Before I even get to my arrival at this hotel, I need to say that this hotel has two locations on maps. One is around a 2 min walk from the beach (Eagles Nest Pefkos) and the other is a lot further out and is more like a 10-15 min walk to the beach/restaurants (Eagle’s nest hotel). THIS HOTEL IS THE LATTER. In my opinion this is a complete scam to lure people into booking. My friend booked this hotel thinking it was a 2 min walk from the wedding we were going too (it was not). ||When I arrived I was told that I would need to stay at a sister hotel (Belmare hotel) in Lardos. I have attached some pictures of the room there - it was grim. It felt like a staff room that had fresh bedding. No bedside tables, no tea/coffee, no water in room, air conditioning was broken, and it was DIRTY. The room and bathroom had definitely not been cleaned. There was sand in the toilet when I arrived, grime and hairs all over the counters and hairs in the shower (see pics). It was a horrible experience and the staff couldn't have cared less to be honest. My friend and I arrived separately as we were on different flights but none of this was communicated to us until I arrived. We both arrived late at night, solo, and it is just not good enough.||When we arrived back to Eagles nest hotel, the room was nice at first glance. Then I realised again there was no tea/coffee facilities or water. I did ask, but in the end I gave up as even after the second time of asking I still had no milk or tea spoons. There was also no iron and not enough towels, again I asked and was provided with both. However, after maybe 10 mins of having the iron I was called by reception if I was finished (I wasn’t and said I needed more time) and they sent ANOTHER GUEST up to my room to collect the iron not long after. I wasn’t finished and they sent the guest back again 5 minutes later. Staff are LAZY and would rather have another guest collect the iron themselves rather than providing good customer service. Also the shower flooded the bathroom everytime we used it and we had to use all our towels to keep it dry on the floor. Not great for safety. ||Also, just be aware that the “luxury” rooms with a pool are either on a roadside or next to the car park so you will get traffic noise and not much privacy at all. I had many people starting at me from vans/trucks whilst sunbathing as they drove past. Felt very uncomfortable. The room was full of ants at any opportunity and I noticed a hole in the wall and was stuffed with toilet paper. The breakfast was below average. ||Honestly just don’t risk coming here. I spoke to another couple whilst there who also said their room was poorly maintained, full of ants and just not what they expected. ||SEE PICTURES. PLEASE AVOID. ITS NOT...
Read moreWe enjoyed a 10 day all inclusive stay here. It's far enough out of town to be quiet but close enough if you're interested in the night life. (There's a roof top bar open to 11pm and a great bar next door that's reasonably priced, very friendly and stays open late.)
There is a supermarket nearby. Kavos beach is close too and lovely. There is a bus stop not far away and reception will help you with bus times.
We really enjoyed the food, there was a lot of choice and it was very tasty. In our 10 days, there was always something new to choose from for lunch and dinner.
There were a few issues while we were there. The water went off a couple of times but this is not unexpected in Rhodes, (funnily enough a hot dry climate is not awash with water).
Bottled water was handed out and it just meant waiting for a shower. Not a big problem. (Definitely not worth ranting at Jerry at reception for 40 minutes, which we had to listen to from one of the guests, while we were eating dinner.)
There was also an issue with a generator which knocked the power out a couple of times for a short period, which was soon fixed but unfortunately, after power was restored the room aircon didn't work. They had an engineer out late that night doing his best but they needed a part. It was fixed the next day. This didn't bother us much as it was night time, so cool enough and the next day we went out to Rhodes Old Town (Amazing place!) and it was fixed when we returned.
None of these issues affected our stay, we just chilled out and enjoyed ourselves.
It has already been mentioned by others, Jerry on reception and Nikolas the hotel's driver were both brilliant. They clearly really wanted everyone to enjoy their stay.
If you want a lift to town, or one of the many beaches, arrange it at reception and Nikolas will take you. We were walking back from a beach one day, Nikolas drove past us and turned around to pick us up, even though he had finished work. Legend.
The girls at the pool bar were lovely too, friendly and helpful.
The pool is good, it's not huge though and occasionally could be a little crowded. There is plenty of shade on the terrace if you want it and plenty of sunbeds and parasols.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It is not luxury but it's not a dive either and it is definitely good value for money. 3 stars is accurate, not far off 4 stars and with a few changes that would be achievable.
It was our first all inclusive holiday and we were pleasantly surprised, especially with so many people saying the food got repetitive.
We'd come back...
Read moreThird stay for this year. We stay here so often because this meets all our expectations again and again. Price, value for money, where the hotel is, the breakfast and how the situation reflects reality.
We got a room with hot-tub as initially booked and the garden facing side, which I actually LOVE because its private. Upon arrival, room was clean and already air-conditioned. Sheets and towels clean, bathroom clean. Toilet seat and bowl clean. (I check) Due to so many alleged reviews, this visit I actually took a PH pool testing kit with me and I found the water of the jacuzzi at 7.4 PH, crystal clear and smelling fresh and correctly treated. I am VERY suspicious that the guests complaining arent really taking correct measures to keep their visit clean. A jacuzzi needs you to SHOWER every time before entering and not wearing clothing that will put chemicals (from washing) into the tub.
