Eleana Pool Apartments — Hotel in Municipality of Southern Corfu

Just returned from a 1 week stay at the Eleana Pool Apartments. All in all we had an excellent time. Bear in mind, this is 3 Star accommodation (2 Star rated with Jet2.com) so don’t expect perfection. We had a self catering studio apartment. It was equipped with all the basic essentials - small worktop oven, kettle, fridge and all utensils, cups plates etc. There is a small breakfast bar with 2 stools in the kitchen. However we never used it as we sat on the balcony to eat. The owners were very pleasant and friendly. The pool area is excellent with loungers all around and an undercover pool table. Admittedly, we didn’t go in the pool as we were there right at the beginning of the season and the weather wasn’t too great. Walking distance (10mins) from the seafront where you will find plenty of tavernas and restaurants plus other attractions. Reason for 4 stars? Just a couple a very small things. We had to ask for our towels to be changed rather than it just happening. The room TV worked but no channels were being received. Also, on the morning we left, (8am so not unreasonably early) there was no one there to check us out. Everything was completely closed. Rooms very basic and small, was put upstairs with a young toddler who is in a pram while there was people in rooms downstairs who could easily go up the stairs, the owners are kind but you need to watch out with your money as they short change you and change the prices of their drinks, would recommend going to the supermarket and buying your drinks there as it’s considerably cheaper than the prices you’d pay at the hotel, the toilets behind the bar are disgusting as when went in there was hundreds to thousands of ants and the toilet brushes in the rooms are disgusting and need to get new ones, their food is average and if you ask for a sandwich they bring you a toasted roll and if you ask for a hamburger they bring you it out in toasted bread, I think there may be a hive nest in the pool drains as there is a lot of wasps or something of that kind always flying around the pool and flying in and out of the pool drain, wouldn’t recommend this place for young family’s or younger people as there’s nothing to do at the hotel or even around the hotel, definitely will not be back ever! And would also say to keep your suitcase with your belongings locked up as Elena would go through your clothes as she cleans the room and then ask you if she can have it from you which is an...

There are very basic facilities no pots or pans, no cutlery, no tap for the sink, when you have a shower there is no shower curtain and you have to hold the shower head in you hand. The cleaning is not done the kitchen and toilet area's are never cleaned ,no clean towels or bed linen. The beds are not made on a regular basis. Maintenance of the apartments is next to nothing such as rusty shower heads the supporting planks under the bed are loose , I fell through during the night when the planks fell through. The electrics should be condemned faulty switches, sockets coming of the wall, some switches were not working and one part of are apartment no lights were working at all. The only good thing about this place is the pool which seems to be the only thing that is well maintained. As for the couple running the place you are continually watched and keep being asked to buy food and drink even though you are self catering. You are not even allowed to take food or drinks form your apartment to the pool area only if purchased of them. We will
