The Village — Restaurant in Municipality of Southern Corfu

Absolutely poor customer service, we ordered two Gyros pitta wraps and a moussaka with garlic bread to start and were given bread and butter (which we assumed was complimentary) and then two slices of toasted bread with olive oil and garlic on top. After a long wait, we were finally given our dishes but instead of two Gyros in pitta we were given a mixed grill and kebab grill. The moussaka wasn't fresh and tasted like it was simply reheated frozen. The kebab was burnt on the outside. After much confusion with the waitress, we cancelled the Gyros and returned the mixed grill but kept the kebab. However, when we went to pay the bill, we were charged an extra €2 for the bread we didn't ask for and an extremely unprofessional manner from the management team. Took my family for evening meal, gyros were fine however other places serve larger portions. I ordered fillet steak at €25 as a treat, wrong choice, it was OK but definitely not fillet steak and a mediocre portion in comparison to the other meals. The service was mediocre and led by children, drinks order incorrect and starters forgotten but rectified when asked. Finally we wanted to pay separately, which we have done in other restaurants, but was told very aggressively by a quite rude and very direct Greek woman this wasn't possible as it didn't suit her, needles to say there are more suitable places to spend our money for the rest of our Holiday. We stopped for lunch in mid May. Very quiet as the season is just getting started. Very friendly and attentive staff. We ordered a Greek salad to share and the pork Gyros. The food was very good and portion sizes excellent. We had 500ml of local red wine for €5.50. The restaurant is clean and surroundings very pleasant. At the end of the meal we were given a kumquat liqueur free of charge. Happy days! Toilet facilities also very clean.
