• When we arrived, we were greeted by the Front Desk Agent around 9:00 pm, who tried to be pleasant, but it was not genuine. • My husband has a problem walking, and he was not offered to be brought to the room by transport (golf cart). The Front Desk Agent offered to check on the availability of another room on a lower floor the next day, but the Agent never followed up with us. • The deluxe room was average. Nothing special for the 556 euros plus tax a night. • Before our arrival, we were asked to select pillows from the pillow menu, but when we got to the room during the evening (9:00 pm), there were six pillows for three people; we had no idea which one belonged to whom. • Worst of all, we noticed the next day that we had ANTS in our room – and it was NOT from food. The ANTS were under the front of the dresser. They had created a hole surrounded by wood dust. It appears as though the resort has not sprayed for insects, and housekeeping did not clean properly and do a quality check before the room was assigned to us. • When we called the front desk, no one would answer, and the machine said to leave a message, yet there was no way to leave a message. We were told that there was a problem with the phone. We checked back later in person, and they said the phone problem was fixed. We called again and same issue. You could not leave a message. • When we complained about the ANTS, we were offered to move to another deluxe room (same as the one we booked), but we were there only two nights and had already completed one, so moving was not an option when we were there to relax. There definitely should have been a room change, but it should have been worthwhile with an upgrade, but none was offered! And there was room capacity. The very least the resort could have done was to offer a free spa service! • Before our arrival at the resort, I called to inform them about my son’s allergies, but when we went to the dining facility, they were not informed. • The food was tasteless; we signed up for bed and breakfast. • We had drinks at the restaurant's outside patio; bees and stray cats made it extremely uncomfortable. • The activities schedule kept changing. I was interested in yoga, and yoga was canceled. I believe yoga is a fundamental activity for a spa retreat. • We signed up for the hike and discovered it was advanced – a steep upward climb. The activities calendar did not mention that the Blue Path Forest Hike was advanced. • We signed up for the Walk in Mystra’s Castle. They did not take us to the Castle, just the surrounding area. On the calendar, it was noted that the level was moderate to advance, but it was much easier than the Blue Path Forest Hike the previous day. The Guide rushed to each archaeological point, and we returned 30 minutes before the allocated time. It felt like the Guide wanted to get rid of us. • The people at the spa were snobbish. • I did a reflexology treatment, and the therapist could not speak English or Greek, and therefore, could not answer my questions about the treatment. The reflexology therapy was average. • The girls at the restaurant were lovely, and they did an excellent job of serving us our breakfast. • I mentioned to the Front Desk Agent (same agent) my overall disappointment, and the Agent stated that hotels on the Greek islands do not need to have good customer service because the sea and the great weather draws people there. I assume the Agent was making an analogy - Euphoria Retreat does not need to have good customer service because the spa will draw people to its facilities. • I informed the Front Desk Agent (same agent) I wanted to speak with the manager. The manager was nowhere to be found. The Front Desk Agent promised to have the manager contact me the next day. Still have not received any call or email. • Upon departure, the morning Agent asked about our stay. I mentioned the ANTS, and I was surprised to hear they were aware of our problem - and stated it was normal since we were in a wooded area. In that case, we should have all LIVING CREATURES...
Read moreThis is a beautiful resort with excellent spa staff, however the programme that I took to lose weight and achieve rejuvenation was a complete and utter failure. I was assured that the meal plan which I was to follow would DEFINITELY result in my desired weight loss of 3kgs and I would be far less tired. I even paid considerably more for an additional treatment recommended by the Doctor to boost my metabolism.||I followed the menu religiously with no cheating whatsoever and I also exercised heavily. However my weight, body fat and PONE results at the end of my stay showed no improvement WHATSOEVER. I asked for an explanation at the time and I emailed Euphoria over a week ago but I have not had the courtesy of an explanation or apology. I now also therefore doubt the efficiency of all the other expensive treatments which were part of my package and are impossible to evaluate. ||Another complaint is that I was informed that I was required to use my mobile telephone when I had intended to put it in the safe for the whole of the week and ignore messages and mail for a complete break.||Furthermore, I had to complain twice before the restaurant staff ceased to bang the door to the interior from the veranda every few minutes. Not what one expects from a supposedly relaxing retreat.||I have been to other retreats which are lovely hotels, have good food, staff and treatments and I expected more from Euphoria for the high cost and its marketing. The failure of management to respond to my complaints has been the final insult and I am shocked by this lack of customer consideration from a premium resort My travel agent has also contacted them on my behalf without success. I think that the management is not open to criticism and the whole experience is over-hyped. I would certainly...
Read morePros: the hotel is a beautiful design, the ammenities are gorgeous and the rooms are large and quiet.
There is a great masseur we had whose name I can’t remember but a lovely Indian man who was very knowledgeable and gave fantastic treatments.
The sound bowl healing and meditation were great.
The tour guide was exceptional who took us to the mystras fort - proper archeologist with a deep understanding of not only the local history but also the topography, flora and fauna. Highly recommend.
Cons: the food is repetitive - the menu is the same for lunch and dinner for the whole week so after 3 days we were bored of it. They also refuse to allow you to order from the snack menu unless by the pool area and won’t serve things like sandwiches unless at specific times. I tried to get a chicken wrap one day at 3pm and it was impossible. On another day, to get a simple chicken, salad wrap cost 29 euro!
The drive is about 3hrs from closest airports which is a bit of a downside - the drivers are great but it does really eat into your trip. When you consider needing to arrive 3hrs before an international flight and 3hrs transit it’s bulk of your day gone in transiting. Next time we would choose somewhere closer to a main transfer train or airport.
The yoga wasn’t very good, it was more like stretching than yoga. I ended up just doing yoga videos from...
