The castle — Restaurant in Municipality of Sparta

Hard to judge when there were only two reviews… well, here is the third. I am giving it a 5, only to bring up the average.

Food: We were very pleasantly surprised. Greek salad was good. Grilled pork was freshly grilled, very tasty with quality meat and cooked just right, much better than the 4.7 star restaurant we went to the night before. Compare to the 6 times we had stuffed tomatoes on this trip (similar to stuffed green peppers), theirs was the best, not overcooked and seasoned with savory spices. Do not get the taramasalata, it is store bought, not real, much like the fake sea legs we get at some seafood restaurants in the States.

Delious food! I will come again when we visit Mystra, I highly recommend. When walking by we were invited in by an older gentleman and we ended up stopping later to have dinner. I gave the waiter my soy-allergy card and he checked with the chef and confirmed that my meal was soy-free. Everything we ate was delicious. I'm not sure where the bad reviews have came from. We ordered a pizza, chicken gyro, ouzo, and local wine (a tasty suggestion from the waiter). Possibly one of the gyros we have had in Greece. Awesome service and...

We waited a long time for the food. The zucchini balls, the cheeseballs, and the cheese pastries were oily and not tasty. The chickens skewer was the kind you’re buying in the supermarket, the cheapest quality, dry and not good. The french fries accompanying seemed to have been cooked the day before.
