We were shoved a plate of meat under our noses on arrival, which we thought was to show you what's fresh, but it's actually more expensive than what's in the menu. I've had what I was told was swordfish. I'm not sure what swordfish was supposed to taste like, but it tasted exactly like catfish. There is no seasoning at all. With it, a bit of cooked rice with dome vegetables and french fries. The rice was overcooked, and it had no seasoning as well. In the end, we paid 5 euros more than what was written in the menu. Overall, it was a bad experience both due to food and hospitality. My girlfriend liked the calamari she's had, but the hospitality left a bitter taste even calamari couldn't wash away. Avoid this restaurant. Im not sure about the rest of the restaurants on the island, but if the rest are like this, don't dock, just admire the house facades...
Read moreThis was the best meal that we had while in Greece! The restaurant is lovely, tucked away down away from the main street. As soon as we arrived, and sat down, a gentleman came to ask what type of thing we were looking for, just drinks, or a meal, and then brought us menus, and a selection of fresh seafood for us to select from on a platter! He took the time to explain what each was, and describing how each is cooked, and was genuinely engaging and lovely. He wanted us to have an enjoyable meal, and you absolutely felt this. We had swordfish skewers and a lamb dish, both of which were excellent! We had salad, olives, bread etc as well, and really felt this was true Greek experience. We were also kept company by some lovely feline companions, who didn't harass us as we ate, but were happy to be...
Read moreWe went to Symi on a daytrip and eventually found this place. The menu was presented in the form of a tray of different meats with prices on them. There were Greeks with us on the ferry who came here and sat a few tables away from us. They were presented with a more comprehensive paper menu and ordered a lot of different things. I ordered a beef steak and was served pork but assured it was beef. We did not get a detailed receipt, just what the bloke tallied up and it came to €48 for a steak, a skewer, Greek Salad and 2 beers. I tipped them €5. Only afterwards when I tallied it all up, I realised how we were overcharged...
