Taverna International — Restaurant in Municipality of Symi

The waiter was not very nice and the food was a disappointment. It felt like the waiter knew that we (as almost every other person visiting Simi) are leaving in 3 hours and never to return again and gav us service without a smile or effort. The meat was not good, it didn't taste anything, and we did buy two different dishes. Very disappointed, unfortunately. Two big tour groups came when we sat here, feels like that is how the place earns its money. What a lovely place. You're greeted by one the nicest waiter/owner and treated like royalty. Taverna International is a few metres back from the beautiful harbour but don't let this put you off...the covered terrace is lovely and spotless We had the pork in mustard sauce (€10) and oven baked aubergines (€7) and both were absolutely delicious! The waiter was so attentive and charming... And just to cap it off he brought us homemade carrot cake that was scrumptious! As we were leaving all the staff, even the chef, said good...

RO: Am venit aici acompaniați de ghidul Christian Tour. Mâncarea a fost OK, nimic memorabil. Am comandat souvlaki de pui și de porc și spaghete carbonara. Porția de carbonara a fost făcută cu ceva smântână, nu au fost deloc spaghetele clasice carbonara.

Atitudinea chelnerilor a fost dezamăgitoare, la fel cum menționează alți oameni în recenzii. Chelnerul care ne-a luat comanda se grăbea, de parcă ar fi dorit să scape de noi mai repede. Niciun zâmbet, doar vorbit tăios, ca un lătrat, și o atitudine dezamăgitoare.

Chiar dacă mâncarea a fost OK, atitudinea chelnerilor lasă mult de dorit. Poate că Christian Tour ar trebui să facă parteneriat cu o altă tavernă, aceasta nu este deloc la nivelul descris de ghid. "Renumita tavernă" este la nivelul unui modest restaurant de cartier. Sunt altele mult mai frumoase în Symi, ne pare rău că ne-am lăsat convinși de ghid să venim aici.

EN: We came here accompanied by the Christian Tour guide. The food was OK - not memorable, but OK. We ordered chicken souvlaki, pork souvlaki and spaghetti carbonara. Unfortunately, the carbonara was made with some kind of milk cream, it was not at all what we expected.

The service is, indeed, as poor as the other people mention. The waiter was in a hurry, almost as if he wanted to get rid of us sooner for other people to come. We didn't get a smile or anything, just a frown and a harsh tone, which was disappointing.
