Let's start with the positive...the location is great, close to the busy market, town square, restaurants and seafront. However the photos are misleading and be prepared, this is not a hotel it just offers rooms. I only stayed 3 nights and the room was clean when I arrived, the bins were emptied daily but otherwise there was no cleaning. The air conditioning wasn't working and as there does not appear to be anyone on site in the evening this was not dealt with until the next day. People on reception did not respond to smiles and were not particularly helpful. Given the location there is obviously going to be some noise, church bells, open air cinema etc, however slamming doors and shouting made the nights less than peaceful. The views from the 'rooftop sun terrace' are stunning but the area itself is sadly neglected, dirty and uninviting. This is a shame as with a bit of tlc this could be a delightful area. Overall,...
Read moreCompletely unprofessional, we were left without a room upon arrival, phone booking made 2 days before our stay was not honoured!
We made a phone reservation on this hotel, on Thursday afternoon 02/06 for a stay starting on 04/06. The woman on the phone took our contact details and did not ask us for a deposit, as (per her words) we would arrive on the day after there next. It was a huge mistake to trust them!
Upon arrival on Syros port, we phoned them only to be informed by a man (the owner) that there was no reservation on our name and they were fully booked for the day!
We had picked this hotel specifically because it was accessible with an elevator, so we had to rush and find a replacement asap (luckily we managed it due to the low season). Off course after that we did not trust their suggestion to stay in another establishment until something could be...
Read moreParadise Rooms is an oxymoron if there was one. This lodging should be called Dante's inferno level 4. We booked a sea view top floor room and we were given a first floor very noisy room opposite the lift with no view. When challenged ,the lady in charge, most condescendingly declared that she would see if she would move us. Her total misplaced and u warranted snobbery was not at all appreciated. I speak Greek so there was no language barrier. In fact her ability to patronise in English was astounding. The second room was better with a sea view but the bathroom had NO ventilation at all. Not even an extract fan. We stayed on only as our time was precious and we did not want to mar our 4 days on this beautiful Neo-Classical village. I recomend the island but...
