We stayed at Pefkakia Park Guesthouse for 49 nights. John and his mother Maria were very gracious hosts who made our stay perfect. We stayed on the third floor of a newly renovated room with an unobstructed view of the port. We normally find a place when we arrive, but in early spring, when the renovations were done, John sent us a video of the room and it did not disappoint.||Everything in the room worked perfectly. The air conditioner was quiet. There was a queen sized bed which was hard enough to support one's back. The cleaning staff came to clean every day. Sheets and towels were changed frequently.. The shower was excellent: hot and powerful.||We had a coffee pot to heat up water for instant coffee. We had coffee, juice, and cut up fruit with a biscotti for breakfast. Our hosts also had free coffee and cake in the downstairs sitting room.||The guesthouse is a half mile walk to the port and the center of Ermoupoli. Being in a large town, one would expect a lot of noise but this was not the case. ||John gave us great tips on the beaches to go to and the upcoming events. One night we left our key in the room and had to ring the bell to be let in. Maria has a room in the back and was kind enough to let us in at 12:30 a.m.||If you are looking for a family run place where you are treated like family, this is your place. Because we were there for 49 days, we got a good rate in the room.||The only tricky thing was the parking. The parking gets challenging in the summer as you must park on the street and in some cases, on the sidewalk. If you don't rent a car or motorcycle or scooter, John will offer to take you to the airport or port.||When we left, John presented us with some handmade pottery which are wonderful mementos of our glorious...
Read moreFrom the second Giannis picked us up from the ferry port we knew we were at a great guesthouse. So friendly and helpful, and the room we had on the top floor was fab. My only issue was that the shower room / toilet was tight and my wife and I aren't big people, otherwise it was brilliant for the rate we paid.
We had to change rooms on the last day, we knew this in advance so it wasn't a big deal for us and this room seemed bigger, the shower room definitely was!
Both rooms were very comfortable and bright with views over the sea (plus Ano Syros from the top floor) with all you needed supplied - including aircon! The price was really reasonable, and the family were top class hosts.
There are a lot of steps between PP and the front, but most places are so it's not unique in this regard. Ermopouli is definitely the place to stay in Syros, prices are reasonable, food is incredible and the vibe is chilled - ideal for upto 4 nights in my opinion.
Happy to...
Read morePefkakia Park Hotel defines the term of "GREEK HOSPITALITY "!||The owners of this hotel, Maria and her husband are very kind and friendly people taking care of their guests. The owner waited for me at the port upon my arrival to drive me to the hotel and his wife welcomed us warmly as soon as she met us. She was offered to help me with my luggage lifting it to my room. The room was lovely, spacious with a balcony and there was also a terrace overlooking Aegean sea. Breakfast was a good day start and they really made us feel like home! I stayed in Easter and they had left a welcome basket into my room with red eggs, traditional cookies and candles for the church!!!! I would definitely stay again at this hotel as their attitude makes you feel like their unique priority, customer service even better...
