This is, by far, the koolest hotel I've stayed at. Everything has been carefully thought out, even down to the tiniest details. I was so impressed, that I feel compelled to write this review. Just keep in mind that I am from the school of thought that a hotel "room" is basically a place to sleep and wash, because you're not spending your holiday in your room.

First and foremost, the staff are simply awesome! Super friendly and extremely helpful. Not once, did I get the feeling that any of them didn't want to be there. They all seem very happy and invested in their work. All wear digital name tags. It's a service industry and these guys are good at it!

Daily humorous/affirmation messages are written on the elevator mirrors and changed throughout the day. It may not be much for some people but these are the small details I speak of. Free photobooth in the lobby. As well as a computer with internet access. Rooftop pool! The pool isn't huge, if there are more than 5 people, it's too crowded. But during the days we were there, we always had the pool to ourselves, with maybe one or two others from time-to-time. Plus, it is a really nice pool, equipped with a water fountain and water jets. Rooftop Bar … small but nice and cozy. Superb drinks, even the mocktails are great. We always went for a late nightcap here. Oh, and there's a telescope there for star/moon gazing. The Gaming Room ... Nothing costs money here. At the time of writing, the gaming room has a PS5 with all the top standards available: MC, RBLX, CoD, FC, etc. Full size Ping Pong table and Foosball table. An upright arcade emulation machine which has every game you could possibly think of! From Capcom Arcade classics, Atari, Commodore, N64 ... literally EVERYTHING! There is also a digital Pinball machine with a huge number of pinball games to choose from. The digital "feel" takes a little getting used to. A large selection of books to choose from and a comfy little reading nook to enjoy them. Couches, chairs and a selection of board and card games are available. The gym … has everything you would expect. Treadmill, free weights, bench and a few machines. The basketball court … As much as I love the idea and that they've actually done this for their guests, it's the ONLY thing that doesn't really work here. If you are not a pro basketball player that can swish every shot, don't use the court. I was so looking forward to this but if the ball bounces off the ring, in the wrong direction, then it's gone (speaking from experience). Destined for a staff member to venture into unknown lands to retrieve it.

Just go ahead, do yourself a favour and BOOK IT! Highly...

I wanted something memorable, stylish, and just a little extra—and Onoma Hotel in Thessaloniki delivered on every front.

From the moment we walked into the ultra-modern lobby, we knew we were in for something special. Onoma isn’t just a hotel; it’s an immersive experience. The aesthetic is bold and chic—think curated lighting, sleek tech, and design details that strike the perfect balance between futuristic and cozy.

The room? A dream. Minimalist yet warm, with mood lighting, plush bedding, and smart tech features we had way too much fun playing with. Everything from the lighting to the TV to the wake-up settings was customizable, and it made the space feel uniquely “ours.” When we walked in, there was even a sweet surprise: a hand written birthday note for my boyfriend and the most delectable 4 layered chocolate mousse cake waiting for us, courtesy of the hotel. That thoughtful touch set the tone for the rest of the stay.

But the real showstopper was the rooftop. We kicked off his birthday evening with fancy cocktails at the rooftop bar, perched high above Thessaloniki’s skyline. The mixologists here know what they’re doing. It was a full sensory experience.

As the sun dipped into the Thermaic Gulf, the sky turned gold and pink around us. With the rooftop pool glistening behind us and the whole city stretching out below, it felt like we had the best seat in Thessaloniki. It was romantic, a little surreal, and honestly kind of perfect.

Dinner at the rooftop restaurant followed—modern Mediterranean with just the right level of flair. We shared plates, toasted to his birthday under the stars.

What makes Onoma special isn’t just its design or the view or even the tech—it’s the way it combines all those things with real personality. There’s a playful, thoughtful vibe to everything. The staff were lovely and low-key but made sure every detail was spot on, especially for the birthday celebration.

If you’re planning a romantic trip, celebrating something special, or just want to treat yourself to something a bit extraordinary, Onoma Hotel is that place. For us, it turned a simple business trip into something...

While the hotel had a striking design, our two-night stay was unfortunately let down by poor service and maintenance. The experience did not align with what we would expect from a five-star hotel.

Upon arrival, we discovered the smart TV in our room was unusable. It couldn't connect to our devices for screen casting and the cable TV wasn't working either. When we reported this, the staff told us the TV wasn't compatible with Apple or Samsung, and despite a promise to fix the cable, it was never addressed.

The breakfast experience was also underwhelming. The dining area was small and often completely packed, forcing us to wait for a table. This lack of space felt like a significant oversight for a hotel of this size.

We noticed a general lack of attention to detail throughout the hotel. For example, the gym had no towels, and there was dust on some parts of our room, suggesting that cleaning was not thorough. Taking a shower was unpleasant as the water temperature was either scalding hot or freezing cold.

The most disappointing part of our stay was the pool. We chose this hotel specifically for the pool, but it had a noticeable greenish color and seemed unsafe to swim in. We couldn't even see the bottom despite it being small and in the middle of the day. When we raised our concerns with the staff, they claimed the pool was properly maintained, but its appearance suggested otherwise.

Overall, while the hotel's design is impressive, the poor service, lack of maintenance, and unusable amenities make it not...

I stayed at this hotel twice. The first time for a week, and another time for three weeks. So, I think I can tell. Pros: 1. Very dedicated, helpful, and friendly staff. 2. Super comfy linens, pillows, and bed. 3. Great for business travel. The printer and the copier near the reception desk really work. Even better, POWERBANKS are available here for renting. 4. Vibe. Simple and sassy. Bold Hollywood light. I like the height of the bed, which is a relaxing one as it was in a Carribean resort, and the throw at a deluxe room is fabulous. The room is also high-tech which is refreshing. You have automatic curtains controlled by a tablet. 5. Delicious fusion food with a reasonable price. 6. A stylish rooftop bar where I would like to stay for hours in a summer day. Cons: 1. Not in the city center. That is alright to me, though. A 15-minute walk or a 5-minute drive. Actually it also means a Quieter night. 2. The restaurant does not have many choices. 3. Breakfast is average. Extras: 1. Greece does not have Uber/Lift, but you can use 'Free Now'. It's easy to get a ride in Thessaloniki. 2. The hotel is close to a bus terminal but I do not feel unsafe at nights. Byzantine walls (?) are nearby, where you can find cozy coffee shops.
