Really, at first we were just hungry, looking around for an affordable grub near the train station on our way out to Volos, when we passed "O Kostas" right in the middle of Thessalonikis (in)official Chinatown which is a sight in itsself. - We did come back for more on our return journey!! - At "O Kostas" time miraculously seems to have stood still, lovely music of better, past times fondled our ears, beautifully elevator/loungy, while we were sat right by the counter, hypnotically watching the owner´s passionate, skillful handling of his charcoal barbecue in which he takes great pride in and care of. It is the perfect spot to witness local life, watching all sorts of unique characters of the area pass by, pop in and hang out - beautiful! When it started to rain the little spot got really crowded as we enjoyed our 3+4th BBQ item in bread, accommodated by a tasty light Retsina. Kosta´s handsome face & cool hairstyle displayed just a little perspiration when mastering the sudden flood of incoming orders, while one could feel the happiness that radiated from his benign, smiling face.
