what should have been a special occasion was ruined by the faulty towers experience of this hotel resort. Beautiful stunning location view to die for and it it provides a great breakfast . First impressions of the room were superficial, all looked great. the first experience of walking into the room was to discover the second bed needed to be made up, not enough towels for 3 guest or bathrobes group and no welcome information pack, and no bin or safe. The bathrooms looked great but was full of faults, The first use of sink and the immediately the tap came off the wall and the overhead shower did not work. The water did not flow into the drain and flooded the bathroom, it back up from the toilet system and left a puddle of rotten sewage water directly outside the front door to the room and smelly bathrooms. In the second bathroom the handle on the door came off completely. the room comes with a small pool on balcony area, the choice of flooring make this a deadly experience, I immediately slipped over and hurt my hip very fortunate not to knock my head . The area requires some anti slip mats and hotel should expect further accidents in this area from guests far less fortunate than me . This was our first impression of the hotel. They say it’s 5 Star, and for that I expect a standard of service. the hotel staff are inexperienced they do not communicate clearly with guests or each other..
I expect the faults to be noted and to be fixed, I expect the staff to report and follow up the compliant. I do not want to return to the room to find muddy boot marks left on the floor previously coved in sewage water and the room to be considered fit for use. When I reported my fall to reception I suggested feedback it was a health and safety risk to install anti slip mats on slippy floor it’s deadly. the staff suggested I wear shoes outside rather than complete a risk assessment of the area. I have massive bruise and staff failed to check that risk with the paying guest that fell. the staff did not check the room to make sure it’s fit for its guests use. I hate leaving bad reviews, but the owners need to look at the floor surfaces. The guest has paid for a room with where you expect a certain standard. The hotel manages communication via what’s app. I have log of communication documenting the issues, further highlighted it’s shortcomings. unless staff are trained to communicate clearly, and with each other it’s never 5 star it’s more like 3 star staff.
Hotel needs to address basic level of service the Manager her name is Mrs. Vallia Mallia. She avoided meeting us in the room as we requested to walk her through the experience. instead she inappropriately joined me on my airport transfer inside the hotels car this was with with additional person the car driver. Shocking way to deal with the issues, which would not have reported any further had they been fixed addressed acknowledge managed followed up. she clearly has no knowledge of the communication we have had with her staff and the journey we have been with this poorly run hotel. Her behaviour and response is the source of the problem here. she was not helpful requires training on how to handle complaints and work with guests to make sure the hotels reputation is at a top level.
She did not apologise listen remain calm, empathise acknowledged the issues. she did not come up with a conclusion follow up or thank the guests for bringing the matter to light. It was poor unsatisfactory customer service. She must be able to understand and listen to what the customer feel or give the complaints proper attention or understanding to insure it won’t occur again.
the only person to acknowledge the issues was the hotel car driver, who apologised and acknowledged hotels issues. Owners need to pay attention for the prices they are charging the service and rooms are not up to scratch. I would not recommend would avoid this highly...
Read moreOperations need improvement, staff and view was amazing
I like to keep my reviews as unbiased as possible even when I am unhappy with how things are dealt with. Below you will find both the good and bad from my stay.
The good: the view is amazing from the restaurant as well as the rooms and the breakfast that is included was fantastic.
The staff might be some of the most polite and courteous people I have encountered, especially the driver, Pierre.
The bad: Housekeeping was quite questionable, the first day the conditioner that was in the room was half used from the previous guest and the shampoo was mostly water. I am not sure if this was an honest mistake or if the housekeeping is instructed to keep used bottles in the room to cut costs and fill partially used shampoo bottles with water to look full. This makes me question what other corners they are cutting with sheets, towels and hot tub/pool water.
The second day, the fridge was stocked with 3 new water bottles but the fourth bottle was half used (not our from the previous day as we had removed all of our bottles so this was either reused from another room or the housekeeper’s bottle they mixed up).
Wifi did not work most of the first day I was there. I spoke with the front desk and they called the technician to fix it and it seemed to work the second day without issues but based on other reviews, this seems to be a recurring issue.
The hot tub outside is great, the infinity pools looked even better and the views from them are amazing. Privacy however is low as you can see the rooms below you if they are using their pool/hot tub and can hear conversations and do not have much privacy.
The hotel wants you to use their transfer service but there is only one driver. We had booked a ride to a reservation we had at 7 and I was later told someone else needed to get dropped and the driver wouldn’t be back for 20 minutes. I asked if they could call a taxi instead so I could make my reservation but they said they were not able to find one available leaving us 30 minutes late for our reservation that we had pre-paid for. I was then charged the full amount for the transfer service even after being 30 mins late and when asking the manager for at least a discount, nothing was done whatsoever. The customer service from the manager was not very good at all. I asked the front desk to speak with her over the phone but they would not let me speak with her and I was told she was in an appointment.
I have also emailed the manager of the hotel and have no received a response in 48 hours.
Lastly, the location of this place is not ideal given the price you pay to stay here. You are on a mountain (giving you great views) but there is nothing around. You are at the mercy of the transfer service to get anywhere or you can walk (25 mins to Oia and over 2 hours to Fira). We spent on average €110/day for transfers so this should be kept in mind in top of the room cost. There were several 4-5 star hotels in Oia city centre for the same price.
Overall, for the price I paid, I would not recommend staying here. Although the staff is fantastic, the location is sub-par and the customer service from the manager is shocking. I read similar reviews before booking my stay but thought I would...
Read moreI rarely write positive reviews but I also rarely have experiences this positive. Okay so the room is amazing, no surprise there. Our outdoor area was pretty private, maybe one of the few that is. A completely private outdoor area is rare in Greece. The views are freakin unbelievable. We had friends visit and they didn’t want to leave. We ate several meals at the restaurant. The food was so incredible!! I can’t believe our best meals were at our hotel. The complimentary breakfast was unbelievable. A ton of amazing food, made by an incredible staff. Sure it’s far from the center but I prefer that. ATVs are cheap and there’s a trail that’s not TOO far. Now the staff.. I’ve never made such a connection. The front desk was so helpful. Constantly communicating with me about private tours and answering questions constantly. The restaurant staff was our favorite part. Katarina was an amazing person. So lovely and kind, we’ll honestly return just to see her again. Her partner was the chef. Such a kind group of people. We got back a few weeks ago but I was determined to write this review. A wonderful secluded spot. Why travel into the busy city when you can hang out at this amazing hotel. We’d travel in at night when things died down and cooled off. My only complaint was that our room was under the kitchen (I think) so we’d hear them preparing. Once I realized it was the staff I...
