View was good, but honestly that was all that was good. Waiters were not friendly. They did not clean our table before we sat down and when we asked them about it - with Covid and stuff - they laughed and stated they “of course did”. They cleaned the dishes of the table, but it was not wiped which is necessary seeing the circumstances. When we sat down, they did not inform us you don’t get a menu and that you have scan it with your phone, in matter of fact there was no commynication whatsoever. This also means it took super long for them to take our drinks. So long (around 30 min) that we ordered the starters and main in the same time. Also, they were out of a lot that was stated on the menu (1/3 - including any sauce you could eat your fries with). When we ordered we asked for bread. We didn’t get this with our starters and had to ask for it again. So we got it at our main course - dry bread, no dips or oil. Also getting our dishes from our table was not something they did by themselves, even after the starters. We had to specifically ask them for it. Also for drinks etc. they would not come over and ask you if your glass was empty. Food was really mediocre and I was fairly disappointed by my main dish. The lamb shack had an awful lot of think sauce poored over it, which taste I personally really disliked and beside the mashed potatoe it was thrown on there was nothing else on the plate. Also after finishing the main course our plates were still not picked up, until we asked them to come over when we asked for the bill. The bill took very long as the waiter decided to help making desserts for other tables first. The reason for me to rate it 1 star instead of 0 is because they seem to have one popular dessert with cream that looked awesome. Unfortunately, by this time we just wanted to...

Reservations recommended for dinner!

We found out about Meze Meze through a local journalist’s travel book. She recommended the place and said both locals and tourists loved it. On an island where most things and places can be quite touristy, this sounded impressive. We tried Meze Meze during our second night in Santorini, and it was so incredible that we went back during our last day for lunch.

Located in Finikia, just minutes away from the craziness of Oia, Meze Meze is an incredible hidden gem in Santorini. During our dinner there we dined with friends — eight of us in total — and mostly everyone loved their food (okay, the rooster bolognese let down a few people — it was pretty dull compared to the rest of the dishes, but still good). My crayfish orzo was to die for; it was like butter melting in your mouth. People raved about the lamb shank for days, and the red wine we had was the best one during our week-long trip in Santorini.

Service was also phenomenal. Nick and his colleague (sorry, I’m forgetting the name!) were terrific, constantly checking on our table and being incredibly friendly and welcoming. The cocktails were also great. All in all, we spent over two hours there dining, laughing, and drinking. It was so good that we returned for lunch, where we had the delicious lamb shanks and their Santorini salad (goat cheese vs. the traditional feta).

I can’t recommend this place enough! Oh, and you’ll still get your ocean views from here.

Please note that getting to the restaurant involves a bit of a climb. Keep this in mind if mobility...

Tucked away just outside the bustle of Oia town, Meze Meze in Finikia is an absolute treasure. Nestled quietly among local homes, this charming spot feels like a true discovery—and rewards you handsomely for the short walk it takes to get there.

The cocktails were an unexpected highlight. The Celestial Garden was a standout, light, refreshing, and just what you need after a stroll through the winding paths of Finikia. The rest of the drinks menu is just as thoughtfully curated, and the staff are more than happy to help you pick the perfect sip.

As for the food, wow!! Every dish was a hit. We admittedly over-ordered (it was too tempting not to), but the staff were kind enough to package the leftovers for us, which we appreciated. Each plate was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor, reflecting the best of local ingredients and traditional preparation with a modern twist. A huge shoutout to Harris and Phillipous, who made our evening extra special. Warm, welcoming, and full of great recommendations, they truly went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable experience. If you’re looking to escape the chaos of Oia without compromising on views, flavor, or atmosphere, Meze Meze is a must. Make a reservation if you can it’s worth it to secure a spot on the...

First night in Santorini, our honeymoon. We was recommended to try Meze Meze by a local. He was right to do so. We came quiet late for dinner as we had not long arrived.10pm and it was still half full, we was quickly greeted with a smile and seated. It was dark so hard to judge the view, but we was given a small mix of feta, olives, bread and tomato's for the table to pick at while we waited for our food. We was also recommended to try Fava by the local as a must try, it was incredible. Really tasty, especially with some bread rolls. We both had the lamb, which was in a lovely tomato based sauce, with rice which went really well with the carafe of red wine. We was also given a small dish of homemade orange pie on the house... Which was really sweet and soaked in syrup.. YUM... Although, maybe not the fastest service the staff were attentive and friendly, and if waiting a few extra minutes whilst being spoilt by the great views and romance this island has to offer then maybe Santorini isn't for you... Can't fault Meze Meze, and will be back before we leave
