Awful place. Gave us possibly worst table with no view of sunset despite other tables being empty when we left. Waitress very pushy trying to upsell everything - if I want fish I will order it thanks.
Feels like the kitchen then took revenge as I ordered lamb chops as I had been told they were famous for it. Waitress would not let me order 3 or 4 for starters, so I had to have it as my main, which she clearly said was “7 or 8 chops.”
Was served 4 chops and about 15 chips for 18 Euros. 2 chops I ate as they were fine, the other 2 pictured had zero meat on them. I asked if this is typical given they said 7 or 8. After some attempts at gaslighting us that this is what lamb chops look like they said they would make “3 or 4 more.”
We finished the rest of the meal and the wine and 20 minutes later no sign of these other chops so asked for the bill and left. Only restaurant I’ve ever been to where they don’t show you a bill - just expect you to pay an amount.
Ruined the last night of our holiday. Eat at Melitini in Oia if you want genuine service, honest food, a view of the sunset and...
Read moreWe loved Santorini Mou for the food and the music. The food was delightful, with a home cooked feeling but still presented well (sorry I forgot the pictures until we started dessert). Everything we ate was delicious. The only problem we had was that they seem to be very short staffed (July 7, 2021) and so the service was not great. The staff were absolutely kind and smiling and accommodating, they were just not able to be present often because there were only two of them. So, while it took a long time to get service, everything else was delightful. We loved the setting in the garden with the trees and flowers and lights. It was quite romantic. It is right on the main road, however, so expect some road noise but it wasn't constant and it wasn't distracting. I think having the live music helped distract from the road noise. The music was fun! Two men played guitars and sang Greek songs (I assume) with only very short breaks. I only give 4 stars because of...
Read moreThis restaurant isnt the standard Chic, upscale bistro with picturesque views overlooking the Caldera. It's a well worn, warm establishment that feels reminiscent of a family's patio, like a reunion at your Uncle Phil's country home. It's outside of Oia off the beaten path, and there's cats roaming among the garden, and colored lights instead of the classy white lighting you find at other places.
The food is flavorful and just right, not too salty or over prepared. The music and warm atmosphere is equally wonderful, and you can expect a round of Ouzo on the house once you're finished. The Owner is friendly, jolly man who you can find chin wagging with diners when hes not jamming on the Bouzouki.
Some people will be put off by the ( As one reviewer put it,) " run - down" atmosphere. But those who know better, will love this place for being an authentic and welcoming change of pace from your typical restaurant...
