We chose to stay at this hotel for a weekend and left wishing we had stayed a week. After having turned off the highway and heading in the direction of the hotel, we were surprised by the beauty of the location. Mountains, marshes covered with burgundy colored wild flowers, grazing cows and a lovely pine tree forest. The hotel complex is quite big and consists of 2 two story buildings, small in size, which offer rooms on each floor accessible by stairs. The rest of the accommodation is a large variety of bungalows, each offering its own grassy yard and trees. I suspect that some bungalows have rooms on upper floors as well.||||Our main building room was fairly comfortable with a small balcony overlooking the grassy grounds and pine forest. The color scheme was white and turquoise, giving an island feel but the walls were in need of some more paint as you could see the previous wall designs through the one coat paint. Small functional bathroom with stand up shower and shower curtain. Good closet space, vanity desk, TV and air conditioning that only will only work when the balcony sliding window/door is closed. The only real problem we had with the room was the very hard mattresses. ||The rest of the hotel consists of one large dining room, large game room offering a couple of arcade games and a pool table, 2 comfortable sized swimming pools, 1 pool bar, 1 tennis court, basket ball court, small children's play ground with a small pool, mini golf and an amphitheater, and gift shop that has some really nice swim wraps and beach dresses. All meals are buffet (self service) and nicely prepared. They offered a pretty good variety of meals.||The hotel originally caters to German and French groups but is now also accepting individual travelers. There are live animation programs especially created for each group, in their language, but anyone is allowed to watch||The second swimming pool is on the edge of the hotel premises and has 2 exit gates that lead on to a bridge that crosses a small river which separates the hotel premises from the sandy beach. The beach is one of the most beautiful I've seen. Miles and miles of golden sand. Each bridge exits onto a boardwalk that leads to the sea and beach bar.||||One of the reasons we chose this hotel was that they allow pets and we were able to bring our dog. We did however have a problem on the first day with the dining situation. Breakfast is served in the indoor dining room but lunch and dinner is served beside the pool. A sudden rain shower on our first day, forced them to serve lunch and dinner inside and were not allowed to take the dog with us. We took turns having lunch and had dinner at one of the 2 taverns which are a couple of minute walk from the hotel. The rest of the time we had our meals by the pool.||||I recommend this to anyone who is looking for some real relaxation. No driving in the heat to go to the beach, no lugging beach bags and all the usual junk. Just step out of your room in your bathing suite and towel and...
Read moreBeautiful location, friendly staff, especially Rena who I booked directly with, lovely welcome. My room was lovely (there is a fridge in the room), air conditioned, and my balcony over looked the sea, the doors reduced any outside noise when closed at night, the breakfast was good too. The hotel is situated directly on the beach and sun loungers are included in your stay, there are really friendly waiting staff who bring food and drink to you directly on the beach. Within a 10 minute or so walk you have the seafront of Stoupa with shops and many restaurants to choose from, it is also close to 2 supermarkets.
Re-booked a holiday here in 2020 after a fantastic time in 2018. Unfortunately COVID hit, I contacted the hotel regarding their policy on cancellations and was told provided I gave 3 weeks notice I would receive a full refund....I contacted the hotel well in advance of 3 weeks but was refused a refund and was told I could rebook which I did. I was then contacted to be told although when I had originally booked the booking included breakfast that it was no longer included. I really feel they should have honoured what I had booked and paid for.
Since my previous visit they had had a complete refurbishment, which although nice enough and modern it has completely lost the rustic charm it once had. Based on my most recent experience I don't think I will be a...
Read moreHaving been to most of the Greek islands, we were recommended Stoupa by a friend, and as we had never been to this part of Greece before, thought we would give it a go - we were so glad we did!!! The journey from the airport in the taxi took about an hour, along a lovely coastal/mountainous road with amazing views.||On arrival at the apartments we were shown to our sea view studio by the lovely receptionist, Corina. The location and the view of the beach were just what we had hoped for. We had a full size fridge and a kettle in the room, so we were able to have a light breakfast on the balcony. The restaurant that belongs to the apartment is excellent, has a bar service on the beach, and great takeaway food for lunch. The free reserved sunbeds on the beach are a real bonus, as it can get very busy at times.||We ate out every evening, sometimes in the restaurants on Kalogria beach, and again the 10 minute walk into Stoupa is so easy, with more excellent restaurants, we were spoilt for choice. We didn't have one bad meal in the whole week and such reasonable prices as well, much cheaper than at home. We slept really well, it was so quiet and peaceful at night.||We enjoyed this holiday so much that we intend to book for next year and bring my sister and brother-in-law along too. Would really recommend these apartments to family...
