Almyriki Tavern — Restaurant in Municipality of West Mani

We came here because a lot of good reviews. Indeed the service was speedy and friendly although I do not personally favor American style of restaurant service where all different stages of service such as taking orders, setting the table, bringing foods etc are done by different staff members. This builds for my taste too much staff hierarchy and you do not have personal service. What comes to the food there was a lot of try to make good food using herbs. We had fava, local Mani salad and spaghetti. The two mentioned first were fresh and had nice appearance. Having already had Mani ham in a few quality restaurants it was to my surprise that the ham used in this salad was of average quality and although served in larger chunks not that very tasty local ham which Mani area is known for. The spaghetti with tomato was average. The bill of 15 euros was totally adequate for the quality received. Based on this experience as a person who has travelled a lot in Greece I am totally not able to sign other reviews that the food is best in Greece. For a touristy beachside restaurant which like to greet their customers in their native language such as in German the price and quality ratio is however quite good. As mentioned earlier I would prefer more personal service. I must also mention that bringing extras such as ouzo and sweets without asking does not usually occur in restaurants serving Greeks or in any classy restaurant. After a small culinary disappointment however the offered vanilla ice cream and some tasty local cake to go with it was very useful to preserve...

It’s not only by far the best restaurant in Stoupa and the surrounding area, but it has instantly made it into our Top 3 restaurants in all of Greece — and that’s saying something.

It’s almost unbelievable (and honestly a bit of a shame) that we’ve been coming to Stoupa for three years and had never eaten here before. The food was exceptional — fresh, full of flavor, and perfectly prepared. But what truly made the experience unforgettable was the outstanding service and genuine kindness of the staff. Hospitality like this is incredibly rare.

I could not speak more highly of this place! Delicious food, good prices (especially as right on the beach), lovely setting and you can watch the sunset. But the best bit is the lovely staff! They are super great with kids, so warm and friendly and amazingly generous. One night a sudden storm came in and the staff moved everyone in difficult conditions under cover. Not only that but they replaced our food we had almost finished, despite our protestations! Complimentary dessert every night as well which the kids loved. It was such a heartwarming place we just kept coming back…5 times in one trip and will definitely return next time. Thanks so much to the lovely staff, we loved...
