We chose the hotel because of its affordable price—we weren’t expecting any luxury, especially based on previous years’ reviews. However, we didn’t expect to fall in love with Anamar this much. Yes, the hotel is older and some rooms could be renovated, but we felt wonderful there, mainly thanks to the excellent staff, who we would now call our “Greek family.” All the receptionists were always willing to help and have a chat, but our hearts were especially won over by Irene, who did everything she could to make sure we were satisfied. Our room was always clean and tidy thanks to the amazing Mrs. Maria, who always greeted us with love in her eyes and a big smile. And last but not least, the manager Nikos does a great job in his role and did everything he could to make sure we enjoyed our holiday to the fullest. He was always there for us with his professional approach, and thanks to him, we felt welcomed on the island from day one. The hotel is located close to the airport, which makes it very appealing, as you can watch planes landing and taking off during the day. There’s also a supermarket and several Greek tavernas nearby, just a few minutes’ walk from the hotel. Taxis are available on the island if you don’t feel like walking uphill, as the hotel is situated at a higher elevation. From the hotel, you can quickly get to Skiathos Town and to the bus station, but there are also a few unique beaches in the immediate area if you don’t feel like traveling around the island. Anamar is a great choice for those who want to enjoy the island with their heart, get to know Greek culture, and experience a truly unique holiday. We would be more than happy to return to this hotel full of amazing people.

My partner and I (both in our early to mid 20’s) have just spent a week in skiathos staying at Anamar and have no complaints really as we knew we wouldnt be in the hotel as much and werent after a resort-like holiday! The room was clean and had such a lovely view. The only thing about the room is the shower is a bit small so water can easily get onto the floor of the bathroom but theres a drain there so it wasnt as bothering as other reviews say - this is just to note not a complaint as my partner and I used it very easily. The location is slightly uphill so do note that if you walk up the hill from the airport with your suitcases 😂 - best get a taxi! However, the location of the hotel is an easy 15/20 minute walk to the skiathos town/port and a beautiful walk! We got a quad bike which just made things easier (saves time when I spent a bit of time getting ready to go out in the evening and when staying out later the bike saves you walking in the dark). Otherwise taxis are readily available and you will be sorted at the taxi rank in skiathos town! The best thing about this hotel is the staff - their lovely reception and helpfulness! The manager sorted out our quad bike within 40 minutes and got us the best price. The staff also helped us work out the best way to have a day trip to skopleos and see the mamma mia chapel! Honestly so so helpful and friendly! Overall the hotel just gave a very authentic and chilled atmosphere, the trees and flowers are just stunning, the pool is fab - everything was as expected and a big thank you to the manager for making us feel so welcome and accommodated ❤️ - Skye and Euan

Had an excellent stay here. Clean simple rooms, a little dated maybe but perfectly functional, with daily visits from friendly housekeeping staff to tidy up, change towels etc. A decent, reliable hot shower in a wet room. Fantastic views from the front-facing rooms. Ours overlooked the lagoon and runway - amazing to look down on planes landing. Endless comedy watching runway spectators being blown around by jet blast. Great location - set into a forested hillside across the lagoon from town, a 15-20min walk into the town centre - far enough away to enjoy peace and quiet and cicada song at night. Standard buffet breakfast fare, but plenty of it. There are lots of options in town if you prefer something more decadent. Very nice pool, big and deep enough for decent exercise, water is clean and clear. Well looked after, we saw staff testing the water and netting out leaves daily. The staff were the stars though - they’re all lovely, especially Chris (hope I’ve spelt that correctly) the manager. Super friendly and helpful, he really went above and beyond to make our stay peaceful, stress-free and enjoyable. It’s a great-value option for those who want a bit of peace away from the bustle of town. Would very happily return!

I’m not normally one to write a review however when we booked this hotel in April the last review recorded was last year and I feel obliged to write one so people can make an informed choice when deciding to book this hotel!||The accommodation was very dated with furnishing hanging off the wall such as light switches. The bathrooms are very small and the shower base had a crack through it and after each shower there was a flood of water. There was no shower curtain available. The air conditioning system is from the dark ages and we were given no spare key to keep the air con on when we left. Apparently it’s ’hotel policy’ not to provide a second key and ‘hotel policy’ to hand your key in to reception every time you leave the hotel! Never have I heard such a thing. The rooms were clean and new towels were provided daily, however these were required given the shower situation. We had a balcony however we weren’t able to take full advantage of this as there was an ant infestation. ||The breakfast was good enough, there wasn’t a wide range of foods on offer.||The pool was good and kept to a good standard. There was a pool bar which had a good cocktail list but non of the ingredients were available to make these. We asked for a cold bottle of water and it took two members of staff including a manger 15 minutes to get one despite there being approximately 15 bottles behind them which they had not seen, the phrase ‘carry on’ comes to terms.||Staff at the hotel were pleasant enough however they struggled to be dynamic which at times was frustrating. ||The hotel is about 20 - 30 minute walk into skiathos town which required tackling a large hill on the way back which was fine with us as we are fit and healthy , people who have mobility challenges would struggle however the hotel provides a shuttle at a cost of €6 per person per journey. The views from the hotel are nice and you get to see the famous run way.||Unfortunately I would not...

This is an honest and true review , upon arrival we instantly fell in love with not only skiathos but the staff of anamar hotel and indeed the hotel ! Firstly , upon arrival we met theodore , let me irriterate this my husband and I have have worked in the hospitality industry for over 25 years and never have I met such a dedicated , knowledgeable manager as Theodore , his professionalism , friendliness & knowledge of the beautiful island is second to none .He made us feel like family ! He is indeed a one of a kind , the directors of this hotel should be very proud to have this man in their employ ! He went above and beyond during our stay . He genuinely could not be any more of an asset to this business , we fell in love with him and the lovely hardworking staff , especially Poppy , breakfast was outstanding , fresh and beautifully presented with love every day ! We thank you from the bottom of our hearts Paul &I for making our stay magical , not very often do you come across people as hospitable and kind as this ❤️ accommodation was clean , allthough basic , beds a bit hard for us , pool and terrace stunning with views of hundreds of year old olive trees as well as surrounding the pool and the best figs I’ve ever tasted in my life so sweet and treaclely that you can just pull one from the tree ! Small bakeries doted everywhere with handmade pastries and the Greek cheese pie spectacular!! As a chef , well, perfection !! We came for Greek culture , relaxation and the food! We left with a longing for coming back as soon as possible ! It is not hard to not fall in love with skiathos and its people ! Thank you theodore and his staff also the talented Poppy also and rest of team 🥰😍 one hell of a deliverance of genuinely the best hospitality we’ve ever experienced ! We...
