I’m not normally one to write a review however when we booked this hotel in April the last review recorded was last year and I feel obliged to write one so people can make an informed choice when deciding to book this hotel!||The accommodation was very dated with furnishing hanging off the wall such as light switches. The bathrooms are very small and the shower base had a crack through it and after each shower there was a flood of water. There was no shower curtain available. The air conditioning system is from the dark ages and we were given no spare key to keep the air con on when we left. Apparently it’s ’hotel policy’ not to provide a second key and ‘hotel policy’ to hand your key in to reception every time you leave the hotel! Never have I heard such a thing. The rooms were clean and new towels were provided daily, however these were required given the shower situation. We had a balcony however we weren’t able to take full advantage of this as there was an ant infestation. ||The breakfast was good enough, there wasn’t a wide range of foods on offer.||The pool was good and kept to a good standard. There was a pool bar which had a good cocktail list but non of the ingredients were available to make these. We asked for a cold bottle of water and it took two members of staff including a manger 15 minutes to get one despite there being approximately 15 bottles behind them which they had not seen, the phrase ‘carry on’ comes to terms.||Staff at the hotel were pleasant enough however they struggled to be dynamic which at times was frustrating. ||The hotel is about 20 - 30 minute walk into skiathos town which required tackling a large hill on the way back which was fine with us as we are fit and healthy , people who have mobility challenges would struggle however the hotel provides a shuttle at a cost of €6 per person per journey. The views from the hotel are nice and you get to see the famous run way.||Unfortunately I would not...

Read moreWe chose the hotel because of its affordable price—we weren’t expecting any luxury, especially based on previous years’ reviews. However, we didn’t expect to fall in love with Anamar this much. Yes, the hotel is older and some rooms could be renovated, but we felt wonderful there, mainly thanks to the excellent staff, who we would now call our “Greek family.” All the receptionists were always willing to help and have a chat, but our hearts were especially won over by Irene, who did everything she could to make sure we were satisfied. Our room was always clean and tidy thanks to the amazing Mrs. Maria, who always greeted us with love in her eyes and a big smile. And last but not least, the manager Nikos does a great job in his role and did everything he could to make sure we enjoyed our holiday to the fullest. He was always there for us with his professional approach, and thanks to him, we felt welcomed on the island from day one. The hotel is located close to the airport, which makes it very appealing, as you can watch planes landing and taking off during the day. There’s also a supermarket and several Greek tavernas nearby, just a few minutes’ walk from the hotel. Taxis are available on the island if you don’t feel like walking uphill, as the hotel is situated at a higher elevation. From the hotel, you can quickly get to Skiathos Town and to the bus station, but there are also a few unique beaches in the immediate area if you don’t feel like traveling around the island. Anamar is a great choice for those who want to enjoy the island with their heart, get to know Greek culture, and experience a truly unique holiday. We would be more than happy to return to this hotel full of...
