Mylos Tavern — Restaurant in Skiathos Municipality

We went in expecting a more traditional Greek restaurant - compared to the others in the city - which also had somewhat lower prices, though not absurdly so. We ordered a mix of appetizers, a marinated octopus, fried calamari and fried anchovies. Total price 47.50€ , includes a natural water bottle. The appetizers were somewhat okay, not very good but they could've been worse. Wouldn't recommend. The marinated octopus tasted bad and was likely out of a can, definitely not worth the 13 euros considering that the portion was also small. The fried calamari were dark in color and were chewy while also being tasteless, salt was completely absent. We were given just a couple slices of lemon for all these dishes so they couldn't be seasoned much on our own either. The fried anchovies were fine but the portion was a bit small for 10 euros and they were also without salt. In the end they gave us some small treats which had absolutely no taste. If I had to say something positive, I'd mention that the staff was kind and available and the location is pretty good, you can see the planes landing right next to you. However, we came there to eat and the food itself wasn't good. Considering the prices we've seen in other restaurants here in Skiathos, it's definitely not worth it...

We like very much the place and we have been there a few times in the past couple of years. It was 5 stars then. We've been there last week twice, even with less than 30% tables full the first item (already cooked) arrived in about 30minutes, the others 40+. It was at best mid season. Drinks take 10 minutes to arrive on the table. As always, we pointed out that 'whatever is ready bring it on the table'. This is in a stark contrast with other Greek tavernas that bring the already cooked starters in 5-10 minutes and drinks in 5. Food quality also degraded. Kleftiko had some sour cheese, not suitable for this kind of dish. Haloumi although generous in size had some bitter mushrooms (maybe the wrong sauce). Mousaka had way too much bechamel. I do hope the owners read the comment and act upon it since we insist going there :) PS: having a fridge with basic drinks and a small storage with dishes and cutlery near the tables (there is plenty of space available) will cut in half the times for...

Fantastic location, cooling breeze and a great spot to watch the planes come into the airport. The menu is amazing with a vast choice and from what we have had to date all freshly prepared and cooked to perfection. Will be coming back 😊😁👍

Kept to our word and Yesterday (19/8/19) enjoyed a couple more amazing hours at this hidden gem after a long years wait for our holiday. Was in two minds as whether to post such a positive review as don't want to be queueing for table! The food is amazing! Great variety of lagers while you relax and watch the planes come in to land. Hospitality is so friendly and really can't fault the place. There is a large shaded area to sit, but also some lovely unshaded areas for sun lovers. Just swap sides of the table every hour or two to get an even tan :-) if you don't visit here while you are in skiathos then you are definitely missing out!! Already booked in for an evening meal and will be enjoying lunch again before we get...
