We just got back from a two week holiday on Skiathos....first time visitors but we will go back and stay at Fiorella Sea View.||Maria and her family and colleagues do all they can to ensure you have a lovely holiday.||Nothing is too much trouble for them. We had a very nice superior room [102] with amazing views. Room was cleaned every day and towels were changed daily. Sheets changed every other day.Air conditioning works well but does not work if a window or door is open even a little bit.Not a problem but if you can't work out why your air con is not working check windows and doors first.||The pool area is really nice....again with great views. Elias and his father run the bar and can provide good food too if you fancy eating here instead of walking into town.||We found like other people that the steep hill up from the main road to be a bit of a challenge....especially if you go out somewhere then come back shower change and go out again the second time walking up the hill the same day can be a bit much. I have had both knees replaced and both hips and I did it....slowly but even so it would not stop us going back.||Breakfast was consistently good and plentiful for us.Ioanna works very hard to make sure you have a great start to your day.....and she is always smiling!||We found walking into town was much easier by walking up the garden and out through a little gate.Go up hill for twenty yards or so then turn right stay on this little road...very quiet all the way down to bus stop 5.Cross the road turn left past the Tomato hotel between there and a supermarket you will find a small path down towards a beach,Just before the beach turn left on a path into town.||We found the buses to be cheap and reliable to use on the island.||However we had a taxi from the port back to the hotel a number of times in the evening. This at the time of writing is a fixed price 9 euros.||When we go back we will hire a jeep for two or three days to explore the tracks the buses and taxi's don't cover.||We really do not understand the negative reviews of this hotel as we loved our stay in a clean family run hotel where we were treated more as friends than...
Read moreWe stayed 2 nights in Skiathos at Fiorella. Everything looked exactly like the pictures advertised on booking.com, except the outside: it was MUCH better! The views from every single balcony are breathtaking and I might have to say the best in Skiathos. Also their terrace/pool bar is the perfect dinner location, you don’t have to go out for dinner because let me tell you it won’t get better than this. When we ate there they had a braai. When the very nice young guy by the pool bar heard that I don’t eat meat, he made me a fantastic Greek salad with hot bread and the BEST tzaziki so far in Greece. Paired with a glass of wine and that view - it’s all I wanted in Skiathos. ||Yes the rooms are simple, but very very clean and spacious. Perfect air condition, water in the fridge, perfect balcony and free beach towels. The breakfast was plain and traditional, but you found everything I need on it. The location is perfect, you can get everywhere from there very easy and have one of the best beaches right in front of you. (More quiet than some of the others) ||The walk up the hill, where the hotel is situated is quite hectic, but that Is why you have such a great view! People want views but they’re too lazy to walk 5 minutes up a steep hill... we only had a car for 1 day, the second we walked up/down there and it wasn’t that bad. I admit I wouldn’t walk up there with luggage, but that is why they have a shuttle service. ||Only point is that the lady at reception could be a bit better informed and educated about what’s all around, get around and about connections from the island. As a clueless visitor you expect some assistance, recommendations and help. ||Nevertheless, I could see and feel that it was a family business and if we come back to Skiathos or if I had to recommend a place i would go back to Fiorella! The price was fair for main season. I felt like home and I love those...
Read moreThis is a sweet and intimate family-run hotel in the hills of Vassilias with the most amazing views of the sea and Skiathos town. ||||The rooms are tastefully decorated and are cleaned daily, each with a spacious balcony, en suite, wardrobe, safe, towels inc beach towels, hairdryer, toiletries, and a dressing table (we stayed in a standard room). Breakfast is served daily from 7:30 - 10:30 with pastries and hot food and there's usually different things on offer each day. ||||The nearest beach is Vassilias which is straight down the hill, though we preferred Megali Ammos which is about 10-15 mins walk. You can walk to Skiathos town in about 20-25 mins and the taxi back costs 9 euros. ||||One word of warning is that the hotel is located up a very steep hill, so either rent a car or be prepared for a hefty walk! It probably isn't suitable for people with mobility issues, but if you have a car it shouldn't be a problem. ||||The bar and pool area are great for dinner. Elias is an entertaining and excellent host and his father cooks the most wonderful grill and moussaka! We really enjoyed dinner during the times we dined at the hotel - the portions were huge and very reasonably priced! All the staff we encountered were wonderful and make you feel really welcome - and Elias, we hope you make your trip to...
