The place looks nice and we were happy to see that unlike other places it has fair prices, but unfortunately we were lied by the girl who is in charge with the sunbeds. We wanted to stay on the front row and she told us that all the front row was reserved in advance and that the hotel guests are priority. We understood and we agreed to sat on the second row. I was very dissapointed when a couple wanted to stay Also on the front row and she told them the same story , but when the lady Said that she prefers to leave than to stay on the second row the girl offered them the sunbeds that we first wanted to stay on, which were on the first row. When i told the girl that it is not fair what she did and that she lied us, she told us that she gave them those sunbeds because the lady wanted to leave and that they came there the day before. I was like that is not what you told us before because you Said that they are already reserved . You Could have told us that the priority is the guests that have been there before . In this way we would come to your place the entire week because we stay very Close to your location. Anyway , very rude to lie your guests and to offer Better options to the ones who threaten to leave . I ve been to many islands on Greece with very kind people . Never happened to me to be lied this way on my face … me and my husband agreed to leave because we cant accept to be your fools.
Later edit after i read your answer : I saw that every negative comment on your location gets a very rude answer throwing shade on the guest, not assuming it might be your fault. It happens that before i left i asked that couple if they had Any reservation before and they told me that what happened to me that day happened to them the day before . Only lies trying to hide the lack of...
Read moreI was part of a several people who were planning to spend the day at Swell including having starters, main meals and drinks. We arrived and checked that we were able to have the space (it's an outdoor beach cafe) and go for a swim and allowed into the outdoor beach space with sand on our feet and 2 people, the manager and a waitress BOTH said it was ok when asked separately. Unfortunately, after ordering a drink, the manager then asked if we were going to go for a swim for which we said yes, then we would order our food (seeing as it's very dangerous to swim on a full stomach) for which he said we would have to leave as he won't have sandy feet in the outdoor beach cafe. Strange because we asked first. The manager was very rude about it but fine, another establishment was more than happy to have our money and I don't like to give money to places that offer very poor customer service. We had our swim and went to a restaurant 2 doors down called Thessaloniki, spent hundreds of Euros and had the best service and excellent quality food - go there instead! Thessaloniki had no problem that our feet had a little sand on them and they were a much finer establishment that was indoors! Swell was still empty when we went by later, whereas the other establishments were full. No idea how they can make a living! Don't waste your time with rudeness, find true Greek hospitality elsewhere which is based around filoxenia. This review is...
Read moreWe arrived at Swell shortly before midday looking to have a drink and were seated by one of the waiters at a table close to the beach. Around 10 minutes later the manager/owner came by to take our order. On ordering drinks he informed us that it was now lunchtime (it was now shortly after midday), and that if we were not going to order food we would need to move to one of the tables by the bar, as our table was "required for people ordering lunch". I replied saying that we had been seated here by the previous waiter 10 minutes ago, nothing was mentioned that we would need to order food to sit there, and that there were many people around us just having drinks. Instead of being reasonable, he demanded that we move to the other table, stating it wasn't his fault that the other waiter didn't know about this policy, and that other customers had arrived before lunchtime (even though we had also arrived before midday). The complete opposite of warm Greek hospitality we had experienced at other places on Skiathos. We left immediately.
We walked up the beach to a taverna (Taverna Bar Levio) and had drinks (which then lead to us ordering lunch... who would have thought it?!). There, we were made to feel welcome and offered a similar table by the beach, this time with no underhand spending requirements.
Avoid this place if you want to support businesses that care about their customer's experiences, rather than just their average...
