Hotel Akti — Hotel in Skiathos Municipality

I was quite surprised by the previous review as we had such a great two week stay at the Atki. ||We arrived late at night due to delays and our keys were taped to the front door as there are no staff on site after 8pm. The door is locked as they leave and you get a door key so the building is safe.We quickly got in to the building and found our room. We met the guys who look after the hotel next morning and they were pleasant and helpful.||We had a second floor room on the front. We had payed a little more to ensure the sea view booking the accommodation via email a year earlier.The room and balcony were not huge but more than adequate. There was a good shower cubicle and you were supplied with some toiletries. There was a small fridge and a kettle so you could have hot or cold drinks in your room. There is a small supermarket right next door that has everything you need.|The bed was huge being two singles zipped together the sheets were immaculately clean and changed ever three days. The bins were emptied daily. ||A great base in Skiathos and we would have no problem staying here again.||We went out every morning for breakfast as there is so much choice in Skiathos. Arrived at the hotel, and trust me the pictures lie, it looks it was built in the sixties and has been neglected since then, the room hadn't been cleaned when we arrived, and had to go out again to let them clean, when we came back in stank of cigarette smoke, the sheets were grey(they had once been white), the lamp shades were falling off and stained, the curtains didn't fit and we had to put them back on the hooks, and when pulled together left a 2foot gap in the middle, on the balcony was some type off tank that spoilt any view, When we eventually found the manger and asked to be moved, he basically said tough its the only room I have, I might be able to move you in a week. Being that I am holiday to relax, we spent one night and told a member staff we are not happy and left, we found another hotel with a pool that actually cost less included breakfast, and it was delightful. ||I have written many reviews and normally only do so when I have something good to say and I want to praise, this is the first review I have given that is a warning, don't book, you can find much better hotels in Skiathos which is a beautiful place and I will be back next year, but I cant say anything good about this hotel and if they had a minus star it would be...

The hotel itself is beautifully maintained, with clean and comfortable rooms, excellent facilities, and a peaceful atmosphere that invites relaxation.
