Went here to eat after leaving from Bourtzi hungry and disappointed. We chose the place thinking that maybe they'll have a lot better food, being a small, unpretentious tavern. We ordered the moussaka. We got a huge portion of something unedible that just looked like moussaka. A lot of almost raw dough at the top, a few huge chunks of boiled potatoes inside, some eggplant, and an insignifiant amount of meat on the bottom, like it was spread with a knife. We both took only a couple of bites and asked for the bill. The staff was straight forward rude, no formalities like answering to "Good evening" or "Thank you". They just dropped things on our table, and I do mean dropped. If you're looking for bad food and being treated poorly for just stepping in, this is the place to go! Now, two restaurants and 150 euros later, I'm sitting on the terrace of my hotel, eating a tube of Pringles. We've only been here two days, tried to eat at four restaurants and it's all the same, pig slop, for a lot of money. Our 3 yo kid wouldn't even try to take a second bite of what they serve around here. We're starting to think Skiathos was a really bad idea. Bear in mind that we really are not fussy eaters. The people on this island are trying to make big bucks by serving people scraps. Also a message for the cook: My friend, you're a shame to...
Read moreI've never left a Google review. I possibly never will again but I will for Mourgio. This is an unassuming spot. End of port. A lot of people walk past from the airport bus in search of something better. They will be disappointed. We arrived some 7pm Sunday evening and were greeted with a smile and when we ordered Tsipouro (pronounced chip-or-ro) were treated like regulars. The prawn saganaki, aubergine dip and baked feta are a must and the seafood is cooked to perfection. The main selling point however are the hosts who are so friendly and wonderful, these are people to tip well and often. I'm obsessed. Come here. Say hi to...
Read moreExellent fish, nice vivid athmosphere, authentic and helpful service. We ate Mouragio salad - little bit funny looking combination: Oyster mushroom and feta and ruccola with tomatoes but very tasty in the end (for me too much balsamic glaze though), then stuffed peppers as a starter - I was expecting another sort -eg. with rice and nuts or with feta cheese, instead we got slim peppers with a normal cheese but was tasty anyway! and the best was a fresh grilled dorata with salad and french fries and that was amazing! And all together with water and 2...
