Kolios Beach Seaview Studios — Hotel in Skiathos Municipality

Holidayed here from the 3rd July 15 for 2 weeks. This is the 3rd time we have stayed at these apts. Still not disappointed.This time we had a two bedroomed apt on the 1st floor.|| Kleopatra meets you as you get dropped off, (We used resorthoppa from the airport £55 for 3 people return, which was a private taxi, so no dropping off at other resorts), and shows you to your room.||||The 2 bedroom apt has 2 bathrooms, one with shower one with 1/2 sized bath. Safe, hairdryer, iron, fully equipped kitchen. Mosquito plugs, air conditioned in both bedrooms. Large balcony area. This apt would easily accommodate 6 people as there is a pull out bed in the living room. Free wifi. ||||The beach is 30 metres from the hotel with a taverna on the beach, very basic but good food. There is daily charge for the sunbeds of €4 per person and that includes the parasol. Take bread for the fish and swans who come and take the food from your hand.||||When trying to find the nearest super market turn left out of the hotel and walk up the road to the shop which is approx 200 metres away. If you turn right out of the hotel the shop is a lot further. ||||Here you are more or less half way between skiathos town and koukounaries. The local bus has improved in the 10 years since we have been coming here but they still like to cram you in so be prepared! Sometimes the bus may not stop for you if too full but another will be along in 20 mins or so. Having waited for 3 buses, and each one to be full though it may be more prudent to hire a scooter! The bus fare is €2 to Skiathios or less depending on if you smile! The apts are situated nearest to bus stop no.15 and to go to the old part of Skiathios or "top of the town" you need to ask for stop no.4. Here you can walk down the hill browsing in shops until you reach the harbour at the bottom. Or alternatively you can stay on the bus until the harbour (the end of the route).||||There is some excellent restaurants nearby the apts, infinity blue is directly across the road. There is about 50 steps or more up to it though, unless you walk further down the road and walk back up the hill. Fantastic views over the harbour. ||||Jimmys pizza, all good authentic Greek food.||Taverna Asprolithos in Skiathios town also serves tasty food, bus stop 4 and a ten minute walk down the hill. ||||||||Green park (after you walk past jimmys take the driveway and after a 10 minute walk you will arrive . Don't fill up on bread here as the main meals are massive, the mixed skewers delicious.||Platanais taverna is also fab, another 300 metres further down past the supermarket ||||All in all a very good holiday, very relaxing and...

Upon arrival we had trouble finding the place, as there were no other signs than the one pointing down to the beach and the taverna, but we called the owner and realised we were right in front of it! She was very friendly and when we asked for a TV she offered us Wifi as well, so we were very grateful. The view from the balcony was great, and we had a little candle to light in the evenings for romance ;) The beach was great, one of our favourites! The beach guy was very friendly and the taverna was okay. Troulos with its many great tavernas is not far away and we were surprised at how short the distance to Skiathos Town was by car.||||The room is big and comfortable enough but of course you cannot expect much for a low price. The kitchen utensils and bed linen were not so clean (I quickly put one of the pillows aside), and I would have done a better job cleaning the bathroom but they cleaned the floors and changed linen+ towels every day but Friday and it was sufficient for us; we didn't expect a five star hotel.||The airconditioning was working perfectly but we didn't need it much, the room was fairly cool.||My biggest complaint would be that I could hear the cars passing by in the night because the door was on the ground floor facing the main street, and the fridge was making strange sounds, and I am not a very heavy sleeper. Fortunately I had ear plugs with me. ||Overall it was good and we enjoyed our holiday but if you are pedantic, I suggest you should look for another place. But still...

We spent wonderful 10 days in Kolios. We have rented the bigger of the 2 apartments which has a big and well equipped kitchen and is really spacious for a family of four. Although the building is a bit older, the apartment is very clean and comfortable. We did not miss anything. The sea view is great and Kolios has a small, but nice, clean and sandy beach, which was less crowded than other beaches. Even better is the beach in the next bay, which is a 10 minute walk. There are plenty of tavernas in walking distance. The only downside is, that you need to walk on the main road to many of them,which is a bit stressful with kids due too the high traffic. But that's an issue for most places...
