Unsure as to why original review was not posted from over 7 years ago - but here it is again Skiathos Princess is an excellent 5 star resort located at Agia Paraskevi beach which is just outside the hotel grounds. The hotel boasts 2 excellent swimming pools, 3 dining venues and the hotel grounds themselves are vast. We were in a family suite that came with our own private garden, swing lounge and outdoor table and chairs. The room was spacious, well appointed and clean.
Both the pool bar and Pr. Ammos taverna offered a wide selection of meals and drinks. We didn't try the dinner buffet so can't comment on that. Breakfast was an 11/10 with pretty much anything you could want. Crepes, waffles, omelettes made to order and your standard cereals, eggs, cold meats and fruits.
The best part of this hotel is the staff (especially after the horrible experience we had at the hotel we had come from). Gianna at the front desk was amazing and very accommodating with the reservation issue we had with booking.com with this property and went above and beyond to help with this (despite it being a booking.com problem and not the hotel). Special shout out also to Eva (hostess) and Dimitri (barman) are the pool bar who were excellent with the kids - poor Dimitri was worn out with all the high 5s he had to give our very demanding 1.5 year old. Nadia the spa manager was also very helpful, friendly and attentive.
There is a supermarket located directly across the road from the hotel for bits and pieces. There is also a small περίπτερο on the Agia Paraskevi beach. There are some restaurants and taverns located nearby or you can head into town for a meal.
The only minor issues we had were the wasps that come out in the evening - especially if you are eating meat. The staff at Pr. Ammos have a novel way of dealing with it though. Also as with any resort - pool chairs are reserved before daybreak - yet the reservers don't turn up until after lunch. I've learnt over the years with this that you can't beat them so you may as well join them - we were putting towels out on 2 pool chairs (for 5 people) at 8:00 am and at least 75% seats already had...
Read moreI had booked 5 nights in September 2025 at the Princess Hotel but had to leave after the first night, shocked at the state of the rooms.||||The room I was given was extremely unhygienic. As someone with a mold allergy, I could feel the mold the moment I walked in. The bathroom in particular had a strong mould stench that gave me a severe headache and brain fog for the entire next day. When I raised this with staff, they came to inspect the room. Although they admitted they could smell something, they insisted there was “no mold.” Although I could not visibly see any mould, I could feel its effects strongly, so I believe it may have been painted over. They then offered to move me to another room, but that room had been heavily cleaned to mask the odor, and the chemical smell was so overpowering I couldn’t stay there either. ||||Meanwhile the people I was travelling with had a Signature Room on the top floor, which was newly renovated and completely fine. I requested one of these rooms, but they were fully booked.||||Despite the health risks associated with mould exposure, the hotel offered no compensation. They said that if I provided medical proof of my allergy to their reservations team they “might” consider doing something, but gave no guarantee. I sent a letter from my General Practitioner doctor but I received no reply. I lost thousands of dollars. Most places in the world have hotel health standards, The Princess Hotel non renovated rooms are a health hazard.||||In the end, I had to find and pay for another hotel. It was so stressful and ruined my holiday. I ended up finding a little hotel exactly opposite and the staff were so kind and understanding. They mentioned that they have heard of other guests complaining about mold. Given how unsafe and unhygienic the standard rooms are, I would not recommend staying at this hotel unless you book a Signature Room. The older rooms should be completely renovated, as they smell badly, feel damp, and are not fit for guests. It was terrible that they did not offer me any compensation for an illegal room in...
Read moreRooms are wide and clean but do not consider 5 star; especially bathrooms. I had sea view room with balcony, but a bit away from sea view. Overall room was comfortable. They do not change sheets unless you ask for. I do not like this attitude behind “saving the environment”! Especially after covid and in a hot climate, you have to be more attentive to hygiene! This is simply cost saving, nothing to do with saving world. And the towels must be renewed for sure. Their colours are shaded mostly.
Best part; the staff! I do not know how to explain the excellent service! Food and beverage crew were just amazing! You can see them from bfast to late night all over the place! Special thanks to George whom I met upon my arrival at pool bar and all the rest; Kle, Vasilis, Dimitris, Georgos and all that I can not remember! Elena, event manager is a gem. Met her during a wedding event and it was my birthday; she was so friendly besides her professionalism!
Bfast open buffet not my type but all families and kids were super happy; wide range and everything you look for are there..
Ammos beach rest & bar open until midnight with snack menu for the beach and a wide fine greek dining menu for the resto. Portions are huge (greek size) and for a solo traveller like me, mostly I wasted plates..
Only disappointment for me was the noise. Ok it is a family hotel but you can not ignore people who comes all the way to rest and relax. Kids playing football even at 9pm on the beach in front of you; while you are trying to enjoy a quiet dinner. (After you listen all screaming and noises all day along) is not nice. I would recommend to put some rules there for families. Also why not separating one side of beach for “adults only”? Cabanas can be good separation in between.
Anyway; the island is just great and I think this hotel is one of the 3 best that you can stay on the island..
Thank you for your...
