This is a lovely hotel. Located in a nice quiet area away from the busy seafront. Lovely decor throughout. The room adequate size for us as we don't spend much time in there, reasonable storage space for clothes. Bathroom was nicely decorated but very small. |The breakfast was nice (except the coffee), though the breakfast room could be very hot. You can sit outside but there were lots of wasps during our stay.|The pool is lovely and a good size. Sunbeds are very comfy. I would disagree with other reviews though, as it could be busy and not always enough beds. Some people did reserve them very early. One family of four would reserve the beds at 8am and then not appear until after midday. The owners never said anything. Woe betide should you move a piece of furniture around the pool area as Dimitri will bellow across the pool to tell you off - so unnecessary.|Pool bar very nice and it would stay open until very late.|The owners, Sophia and Dimitri, along with their family, really look after the hotel and their guests. Sophia was always helpful with information on where to go, booking cabs. The children help out and were always so friendly and polite.|The only gripes I would have is that they didn't like taking debit/credit cards, and only wanted you to pay in cash. If you used a card they would charge an additional 3 - 5%. We have never experienced this before on any Greek islands and no where else on Thasos did this. You have to pay separately for the air con, not included in the hotel price. Again, payment is cash. Beach towels are EUR 1 per day.|The hotel is about a 7 minute walk to the beach. The beach is so, so busy. We really were not expecting it. It was full of east European families who were very loud and bolshie. For some it was never enough just to have the beach sunbeds and parasols, they would have to add to them and put an extra sun lounger right next to ours leaving no personal space. They would put up additional parasols blocking the sun. It is a beautiful sandy beach, with clear water - when no one is there!!!|We were so disappointed and not expecting this. We visited Thasos many years ago and it was nothing like this then. This is the first time we came away thinking we had not been in Greece. Such a shame as Thasos is a lovely island. I understand the best time to visit is June and September.|Unfortunately, we will not...
Read moreFrom the moment you step into the grounds of Hotel Korina, you instantly feel welcome and at ease. There is something special about the atmosphere. The beautiful fragrance that greets you in the lobby and in the rooms, paired with the romantic décor, sets the tone for a truly memorable stay.||I have been travelling to Greece for many years and have always experienced wonderful hospitality. Here it is on another level. You do not just feel welcomed. You genuinely feel at home.||The cleanliness of the hotel is impeccable. The pool is crystal clear and surrounded by plenty of inviting spots to relax. Beanbags, comfy sun loungers, cozy sofas and a shady terrace make a nice mix and match. The pool bar food is fantastic with freshly baked bread, crisp salads and some of the best burgers I have ever had. Evenings were spent sipping cocktails at the bar, socializing and meeting lovely people. A perfect way to end each day.||The location is another highlight. In July we especially appreciated being away from the hustle and bustle of the main resort. At the same time it was just a pleasant stroll to the restaurants and the beach. It truly offers the best of both worlds.||Breakfast deserves a special mention. It is the nicest I have ever had in a three star hotel. Everything from creamy yogurt and fresh fruit to delicious pastries, scrambled eggs, sausages and bacon. The breakfast team greeted us every morning with the warmest smiles. What a perfect start to our day.||Sofia, Dimitris, their wonderful children and the entire staff could not do enough for us. Their hospitality shines through every detail. We feel incredibly lucky to have chosen this gem for our first visit to Thassos and we are already planning to return next year.||If you are looking for a place where you will be treated as a person and not a number, if you wish to enjoy a cozy, homely feeling while still having all the comforts of a well run hotel, if you like socializing and making new friends, then Hotel Korina is the perfect choice. Highly...
Read moreSofia is very nice, helpful and very responsive! She helped us with the reservation and during our stay with restaurant reservations in the evening and we had tables by the sea, with the best view! Good location, parking place in front of the hotel. Reception nice, cozy, check-in was smooth, but we were informed about the rules by the pool for the kids: no dive, no jump, no fun...In the afternoon, we stayed by the pool and when our kids started to laugh ( having fun in thd pool) we were "please, please" from the bar. Not nice, since day 1...they were having fun, laughing, the way they express their joy ( the kids were not yelling, not diving, not jumping, not running!). In another day, we stayed again by the pool, our kid knew the rule and had to stay not having fun, but, another 3-4 greek families with small kids were yelling, making noise in the pool and trust me nobody told them "please, please". Not to mention that some people were jumping in the pool and nobody 'pleased' them. Room: for a deluxe room we were expecting bigger size, but it was not the case. Double bed was actually 2 single beds, not ok for us. Single bed was a sofa, very hard mattress not good for sleep. Bathroom was big, but shower was outdated, found it since day 1 with a broken fosset, during the shower was clogging. Towels were old and not white anymore, they should be replaced with new ones. Nice toiletries, big size shampoo and shower gel. Cleanliness should be improved in terms of vacuum the floor better, it was full of dust, same for the terrace. Breakfast ok, almost same food but with variety of choice. Pool bar had nice drinks and food. In the last day, we had a discussion at the pool bar, the guys mixed up the orders with our friends and they were accusing us that we ordered...nasty and very arrogant attitude! They did not admit their mistake, they were arguing with us, very rude. Definitely not coming back. The hotel is...
