I truly don’t understand these high ratings for this restaurant.
We were the group of three and have had shrimp pasta, seafood pasta and pasta carbonara for lunch. It was even below average if we consider all of the places across Thasos where we have eaten.
Almost all of the seafood is frozen, but they have declared it in the menu, which is fair. Still, for a highly rated fish restaurant located on an island, I would expect more than frozen.
The waiters were pretty unfriendly which makes me mad knowing the Greeks are famous for their hospitality. They ignored us at the entrance when asked for a free table for three and then offered a table for two. There was a waiter setting up the table next to us, mumbling something in Greek in an unfriendly tone. I am not sure if that was intended for us, but it wasn’t pleasant at all. The only thing they can get my compliments for is that the service was fast.
Also, wasps are all around making it impossible to eat normally and this restaurant, unlike other restaurants, doesn’t offer any...
Read more2 years ago this place was mostly empty. I’m saying that because we were eating mostly at Captain fish which is next to Fish art. Since Captain fish was closed for half a season last year, Fish art started to have more customers but my opinion after eating there several times is that the place is overrated and overpriced. The Greek salad is swimming in too much olive oil, the fried chicken as well. The octopus that my husband ordered the other day was overcooked while the price was not so low. The plate with sea food for 2 persons didn’t taste very well, I believe an unexperienced cooker ca do it much better in his/her own kitchen. Hence , my overall impression about this place is that the food is expensive, the portions are small and the food’s taste is mediocre. The only part I appreciate is the service, everyone is working hard. Can’t say the same about that guy , Florin , which I noticed is mostly looking at his phone and rarely serving at the tables or...
Read moreFish Art is a well-known and very popular restaurant, and like every year, we made sure to enjoy a dinner here. Once again, the seafood platter for two was absolutely exceptional. The lemon dip for the mussels, the grilled calamari and octopus, along with the rest of the seafood, were all incredibly fresh and flavorful — truly top quality. And all of this at an amazing price of just €32.
It’s important to keep in mind that, because of its popularity, you might have to wait for a table, especially in the evening, and the food might take a bit longer to arrive. That said, the staff always do their best to make sure you have a great experience, and their effort is appreciated.
I will definitely be coming back. The food is outstanding, the prices are very fair, and overall, it’s a must-visit spot. P.S.: There’s free parking available close to the restaurant, which...
