Captain Fish Tavern — Restaurant in Thassos Municipality

Worst dining experience in Thassos... Or actually, the worst we've ever had in Greece or anywhere in the world. The seafood was decent (at least the half of our order that they didn't forget to bring), other meals are mediocre at best, and the service doesn't deserve even half a star... You will have better experience in any other restaurant. First, after making and confirming the reservation for 8 adults and 5 kids (in person at the restaurant) they simply forgot about it. And we weren't alone like that. There were 15 reservations at the same time for large groups but they had 8 tables!

Then, we waited for 30 minutes to get the menu, at the end we had to grab the menu ourselves.

In another half an hour, they came to take our order. Well, while taking it, they were arguing and yelling (!) at other people who made reservations but couldn't get a table (saying that pretty much they don't care about their reservation and that it's not their problem). Guess what happened to our order? They forgot several main dishes, brought a completely wrong appetizer and and forgot a bottle of ouzo.

Unfortunately, there is no way to tell your server about it, because they simply don't come to your table. After waiting for an hour and half, and telling them that we are still waiting for several main dishes, the server started arguing with us how we didn't order them (and we had discussions with him about these particular menu items)...

If you think our table was the only one with such experience, unfortunately you are wrong. The other tables had exactly the same issues and several groups of people just left after waiting for a long time and not even getting a menu.

At the end, after asking for a bill and waiting for another 30 mins with no result, we had to complain again after which another server told us that he totally understood us, but then yelled at us, told us to talk to the manager and mentioned that he doesn't care about it.

The owner did not really try to solve the issue either, except for admitting that they need more people.

So if you want to have the worst dining experience while you are on Thassos, come to this restaurant. If you want to actually enjoy your evening, choose any other place and you will...

Big portions but bland food and indifferent service. We ordered mixed grill and greek pastas with lamb. The mixed grill was generally dry and all the pieces tasted more or less of the same. The greek pasta looks a bit like rice grains if you mix them with tomato and lamb and throw in some time, it should be pretty easy to make a tasty meal. The portion we got had 1/2 inch of cheese on top, a slight smear of tomato sauce underneath the cheese. This was followed by lamb and watery and lumpy pasta. The lamb pieces were generous but filled with bone, skin and grizzle. They somehow managed to kill a straightforward dish. It could be our fault for ordering meat at a fish restaurant - but if they put it on the menu... Lastly the staff was not unkind, but indifferent and hard to make contact with, this despite the fact that we came at a time when they weren't busy. On the upside the portions were very generous. There are many great places on the waterside - I can't recommend you spend your money...

We ( a group of 4 ) made a reservation after a failed attempt to find a table available the other night. Judging by the fact that it was always full, we assumed it was a great place to eat. A HUUGE MISTAKE . After eating arround the taverns near it I can say that the food they serve is mediocre. The whole experience was.If you order more dishes they will pile them up on your table with 0 regard of comfort or if they stack one on top of the other.Crowded ( I must repeat myself, I don't understand what people like about this place so much) . You have plenty of much better options near, don't get carried away by the herd mentality like we did. Last but not least, after being disappointed by our food we had to stare at the half eaten plates for more than 30 minutes while staff members walked by us in a dream like state, without taking some plates with them back to...
