Completely overrated!
Yes, the pool and the fact that you could jump in the swimming pool from the room was an advantage and the room was ok, but here are the negative things which happened during my stay:
the first day we arrived we had problems with the door being locked and after 2 hours the handyman tried to fix it, he said that it was the electricians problem. (An unfortunate event but we stayed with the door unlocked overnight) -also, after the handyman "tried to fix" the door was not closing properly at all and also he removed the doorstep to make it close, which in consequence made a door gap allowing for insects and spiders to enter the room! they had power outages which specifically affected only 2 rooms (the CAVE) and room number 6! we had no electricity and no air conditioning for several hours for 2 days (especially when you try to make luggage in the night prior leaving) -insect problems! If you are afraid of insects and spiders it's a no go! We found spiders in the bathroom during night when you try to have a quiet piss, in the drawers and pretty much everywhere, even close to our beds at night when trying to sleep -Cleanliness it's not their strongest point. They change sheets only once per week. And the floor was not mopped properly; after paying for all our drinks and after every consumption, at the end we were still asked to pay for some drinks (even tho we payed for) we couldn't reach for anyone when we had the power outages; we called them for 5 times during the evening the power outage happened and nobody answered!
Thank you but no thank you for the...
Read moreNormally, we don't vacation at the same hotel twice, but we would love to come back here every year! Last year, we spent 10 nights at Meli Suites, and it was a dream. The location is perfect—quiet, yet within walking distance of the lively promenade with its many shops, restaurants, and bars.
Thasos is a beautiful, small, green island with so much to see! The Marble Beach is stunning but often crowded, and the drive there by car can be quite challenging. It’s best to visit by boat.
As for the hotel—it’s one of the most beautiful we’ve ever stayed in. The decor is lovely with great attention to detail, the rooms are cleaned daily, and the staff is incredible. Maria, we love you!🫶🏼Every morning, she spoiled us with her lovingly prepared breakfasts, gave us excellent tips on what to see, and made our stay unforgettable. The hotel's massage is also fantastic—you feel rejuvenated afterward.
On the evening before checkout, we were thrilled to receive a bottle of wine from the hotel!
All these wonderful experiences have brought us back this year!
P.S. I got engaged at this hotel, and this year we’re coming for our honeymoon! We can't wait.

Read moreWe stayed at Meli Suites Isle for 7 nights in the Pergalo Room. The hotel’s design and overall theme were stylish and pleasant — we really liked the atmosphere. Our room was cozy, the air conditioning worked perfectly, and although the pool isn’t very large, it was more than enough since the hotel is never too crowded. The private parking area was also a big plus — we always found a spot, even late at night.
Breakfast was one of the highlights: it changed daily, was very tasty, and the staff kindly explained the menu each morning. However, the bees during breakfast were quite annoying. They burn coffee to keep them away, but it doesn’t help much — eventually I ended up sharing my smoked ham with them, and they left me alone 😄
Cleanliness was fine — not perfect, but okay. A full-length mirror in the room and a towel hanger near the bathroom sink would have been helpful additions.
Special thanks to Theodora at the reception — she was extremely kind and helpful — and also to Giorgos, who was equally friendly and lovely to chat with. Their warm attitude really made us feel welcome. Overall, it was a peaceful and relaxing stay in a...
