Hotel La Caretta — Hotel in Zakynthos Municipality

Dishonest owners will take advantage of you I stayed here in May 2018 for 4 nights with 10 of my friends and family. We booked 5 rooms through the hotel website and dealt directly with the owners. We agreed on a price before we arrived, when we arrived the owner tried to raise the price by over 30% and told us breakfast was no longer included. After showing her the email conversation she reluctantly agreed but said the credit card machine was broken and we would have to pay cash. We then offered to pay at the end of the stay when the machine was working. When we were checking out the machine was “still broken” so we offered to leave our credit card number for when it was working. An additional tax of 60 euros was added on to the price unless we paid cash. After an argument it was reduced to 30 euros which we accepted because we had to catch a ferry. Later I sent an email with proof that the agreed price was supposed to include all taxes and fees and asked for a refund. The reply I got was very rude “YOU ARE STUPID PEOPLE. YOU GO ANY WEARE YOU WANT. THE LOW ITS 1 . THE TAXES GOVERNMENT ITS NEVER INCLUDING IN TGE ROOM. THIS THEY WRITE IN ALL THE SITE.” I have since reported my experience to the Greek Tourist Police. This hotel did not disappoint! From the moment we arrived, Jerry, his lovely wife Michaela and the entire team made us feel incredibly welcome. Their hospitality was second to none, and it truly felt like a home away from home.

The rooms are modern, spacious, and spotlessly cleaned every single day — a real testament to the staff’s attention to detail. Everything about the hotel is thoughtfully designed to make your holiday stress-free and enjoyable.

La Caretta offers everything you could possibly need for a fantastic getaway on this beautiful island. We rented a beach buggy and had an absolute blast exploring Alykanas and beyond. Quads, scooters, and cars are also available, making it super easy to discover the hidden gems of Zante.

The pool is well-maintained and a nice spot to relax, with comfortable loungers and a calm atmosphere.

And the food — wow! Every meal was delicious, fresh, and beautifully prepared. The flavors were outstanding and the variety kept us coming back for more. You can really taste the love and care that goes into every dish.

We stayed here in mid-October and absolutely loved it. The hosts, Michaela and Jerry, are wonderful people — so warm and welcoming that it felt like we were visiting old friends. They are sincere, genuine, and always ready to help. The atmosphere is cozy and feels just like home. The rooms were spotless, cleaned every day, and had everything we needed. Breakfasts were delicious, and our hosts gave us great recommendations for the most interesting places to visit on the island. There’s also an option to rent quad bikes, which is very convenient for exploring the island.

The hotel is in a perfect location — close to many restaurants, bars, shops, and supermarkets. Everything you might need is within easy reach. You can enjoy a nice dinner in a good restaurant or grab something more affordable — there’s something for every taste. It was very convenient that we could buy anything we needed, go out to eat, visit the gym, or shop for souvenirs at any time. Everything is nearby and most places are open until late in the evening. This is a big advantage, as some hotels on the island are quite far from the main infrastructure.
