Patrinos Studios — Hotel in Zakynthos Municipality

NEVER pay Maria before you see where she is accommodating you. We arrived at Patrinos Studios after booking by email, where we were told that if we paid in cash the price would be 365EUR - obviously they hide taxes (sad) My friends were here on the 2nd floor years ago and they told me that the place is ok. I trusted them and I booked. We were accommodated on the ground floor. I immediately paid the agreed price of 365EUR in cash. Shortly afterwards, we found that the studio on the ground floor had no windows, only two doors - the entrance door and the other door leads to something like a balcony, which has direct access to the street. I immediately asked Maria if there was a way to accommodate us somewhere else, on the second floor or a room with windows. She told us ΝΟ, THERE IS NO WAY! Our little son has laryngeal spasms and it is very important for him in the room where he sleeps to have access to fresh air. There was a door to the street, there was no mosquito net so it was impossible for us to use the room. We compromised for the time being and went to the beach. After 3 hours the room was terribly suffocating and difficult to breathe even by people without problems. I called Maria and told her that we just couldn't stay because the lack of a window is a big problem for us. I offered her to keep the amount for 1 night, although we will search for another place. Maria who took the money was different! She was so aggressive and arrogant so that was a really bad experience. We argued for over 40 minutes. I persuaded her to keep 60-70EUR but she aggressively explained how good her studios were and that the minimum that would charge us was 185EUR. She even said if we want to complain to the Police- Very nasty and rude behavior! In the end my husband and I decided that the money doesn't matter because we don't want to learn where the Zakynthos Hospital or Emergency centre is located. We told Maria to return us whatever amount of money she want and we requested a document for the money she would keep. She didn't write our personal data, she didn't took our Identity cards, she didn't give us a declaration for Covid but in the end she gave us an invoice for 185EUR. I hope Maria will buy something valuable to her with the half of the money for our stay, as we have not used the room for even one night. People, be very careful with Maria, do not pay in advance. The photos are misleading, this is not what you see. There are no windows! Be careful before you pay. If there is a problem you will receive maximum the half amount if you haven't used the room for overnight stays. Maria is kind while she takes your money. People with children, this is not your place. Just returned after 2 weeks at these amazing studios, our second visit this year and can’t wait to return. We have stayed many times at most of the larger Greek islands, but the standards here were simply the best. The studios are kept immaculate, so clean with everything you could wish for, large comfy bed and lovely pillows, nice adequate kitchen and a main priority, lovely modern walk in shower, safe and air con also included. The position is great, so close to restaurants, bars etc, but still peaceful and only five minutes to beach. Maria and family looked after us well, going above and beyond, even bringing us an extra table and chairs, so we could sit on back balcony and admire view, which we like to do, and even more took us to the airport after leaving us keep our room all day. We rented the small apartment at the ground level with 2 bedrooms and one living room with a small kitchen and bathroom, perfect for 4-5 people. There is a seif in one of the rooms to keep your money. The room was very clean and we got fresh towels from the host that was cleaning the rooms at an interval of 2 days. In the back each apartment has a place to dry out our clothes and towels and a small place to relax with chairs and a table for the morning coffee. The yard permits to park around 6-7 cars. The location is near the beach, 5-10 min of walking(with kids) or 2 mins with the car.
