Louros Beach Hotel is a fantastic place to stay for so many reasons. The gardens are immaculate and beautiful, the location is quiet and tranquil, the clientele are mostly on the older side and children are not encouraged. There was some sunbed-reserving but it wasn't excessive, and there were sunbeds available later in the day without the usual crazy rush. The rooms are basic and the beds are on the harder side, but this is typical of hotels in my experience, and we also had a safe, a kettle and a good-sized fridge which is not typical. The shower cubicles are not large but not a problem for us at all, and there was plentiful hot water (after a short wait) with good pressure. The rooms were cleaned thoroughly every day and fresh towels supplied. A continental breakfast is supplied with plenty of variety, including some hot options like eggs, and a full Greek option (yoghurt, honey etc). It puzzles me from other review that anyone would expect anything else. Breakfast is served between 07:30-09:30 - this is quite harsh when travelling from the UK and jumping two hours ahead in time difference - but we got used to it and this is a family-run hotel; everyone is performing multiple roles and working extremely hard so I can understand the reasoning. Perhaps an extended breakfast with a few "help yourself" options for another half an hour would be helpful. Having said that, I would strongly recommend rising early in any case as the temperature is much nicer and the mornings are just lovely. We had an early start one day and they made a small breakfast available and packed us a lunch without charge, and the staff are mostly friendly and helpful. The location is second to none with an absolutely gorgeous beach a stone's throw away (closed at night for turtle activity), and plentiful shops, bars and restaurants within a short walk. The Kalamaki strip is lively at night but not overwhelming like Laganas, and we ate out every night at some wonderful places. I heard other people complain that there was a lack of English food in Zakynthos, which I find ridiculous but also untrue as there are plenty of omelettes, burgers etc. to be found if thats what you want, but we fell in love with tsatsiki, gyros, moussaka and olives amongst many other fabulous tastes. Cheese pie is now my absolutely favourite dish. The island, the location and the hotel are all very strongly...
Read moreI absolutely love it here.! We were transferred to this hotel after a nightmare 5 days in a terrible resort Arrgassi (jet 2 took five days to move us!) This hotel Louros Beach saved our holiday. The manager welcomed us as we arrived and was so friendly she put me at ease immediately. The hotel is spotlessly clean and modern decor, beds were comfortable, room was airy and spacious for a studio, plenty big enough for my husband, myself and our 14 year old daughter (due to it being 2020 covid, room options this year meant we needed to share and opted for studio) My eldest daughter and boyfriend also had a spacious room both with lovely balconys and views and plenty of light. The gardens are magical and so well kept like a sanctuary to walk around if you just needed some time to yourself or together even. They even have turtles in the garden. The resort is lovely, beautiful long beach where turtles nest and shops restaurants near by. We found a family run place called Andrews that served take away for us because of it being 2020 and our worries with covid. They were amazing and food was delicious. I ran along the beach every morning to Laganos which is abit more lively and also worth a visit. We also visited zecanthos on a little tour train the main town which is worth a visit with lots of history, restaurants and shops. BBreakfast had plenty of choice for us. Bar staff friendly and food tasted great. Cleaners also did a fantastic job and always said hello. I am hoping to take the rest of my family and best friends back as soon as I...
Read moreReally nice and friendly staff on arrival rooms are spacious with comfortable beds and excellent air conditioning bathroom facility also very good .||Breakfast is excellent plenty of hot food along with the standard cold options in a nice tidy setting. ||Bar is nice I would say the lunchtime food is just above average its nice but not wow . Reading some reviews I was expecting a lot lot better but I put those reviews down to " the over positive and excitable holiday syndrome " the wife is a chronic sufferer of this so i understand it ||This hotel is a huge returners bolthole so sun loungers are a challenge generally towels are out at 7am as some returners feel they have a devine right to the same lounger everyday all day the hotel should put a stop to it .||Kalamaki strip is a purpose built affair with a mix of Greek and Albanian restaurants with the food being generally excellent my initial thoughts were that the strip is very much a council estate vibe and it is in all fairness laganas is only 10 mins up the road so you should expect it . If you are a Greek romantic and adore traditional tavernas with the aromas and atmosphere then forget it as plumes of vape smoke and brats in pushchairs is what your actually get .||Plenty for people watchers to enjoy if crap leg tattoos are your thing or just crap tattoos in...
