This place... wow. just wow. The personnel. the food. the serving! I felt like home. So i went there as they had a placcard to the front advertising fresh fish. The personnel greeted us (in Romanian) and seated us. From the house we received a fresh baked piece of bread to be served with both parsley butter and a mix of legume sauce. The bread warm, flavorful, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It melt in my mouth. First were the drinks and i ordered a white russian. A cocktail I have not met in other places yet a good one takes me back to my teenagehood. In came a soft, creamy, topped with cinnamon drink which was so refreshing on the hot weather, I drank half of it in under a minute. Alas I ordered a swordfish. I wasn't sure if the dish had anything on the side but it didn't matter, i was there for something fresh, something found in abundance in Greece. And in came the food. Now in traditional Romanian way it is said that one has to eat everything on the plate otherwise the cook might get offended. What might he understand? That he is unable to bring passion to his work? NO. In came a plate with 2 large pieces of grilled swordfish sided with salad, rice and sauce. A delight to the senses. The meat, tender, juicy, FLAVORFULL. My mother used to say one thing about me: when I enjoy the food, I eat, not time to talk. So, of course, the waiter comes in asking if the food is alright. At that stage i was digging into the fish and barely noticed him. I could only give him 2 thumbs up with a mouthfull of fish. Yes, I enjoyed what I served, I would serve once more, BUT on an empty stomac. 2 pieces of fish form quite a large plate so be sure to be hungry! As I guarantee you the dish will overwelm you! At the end, I (we) requested the check, and the server offered me, my wife and our friends and complementary drink. I went for the greek ouzo. Tasty and minty, somehow it went well after that consistent dish and I must say I am not used to serving alcohol after eating. All in all it was a pleasant experience with its fair share of unexpected. The chefs deserve their title and the waiter(s) all respect. I as a Romanian, found an unexpected interlocutor. Me with the little Greek I knew, them with the little Romanian they knew, got along perfectly fine. Of course English was the base language, but that didn't stop us from wanting to learn a bit more words from one-anothers culture. Those waiters deserve a raise for the effort they put into welcoming people and making them...
Read morethis is by far the worst dining experience i have ever undertaken in my life, we initially saw that the establishment was full so we were hesitant to see if there was availability, in the end after much hesitation we decided to check the availability where we were met with the manager telling us that the resteraunt only accepts bookings in advance but he will try to fit us in (this is fine and honestly a good attempt to suffice to business however if the resteraunt is full just deny people it isnt that hard). However furthermore when we were sat and ordered drinks there was so much going on it was unbearable as there were waiters tripping over themselves and shoving people out of the way so they can get through. I understand that this is a greek night and all but there is no need for the constant fuss and noise, i went to the restaurant opposite the night prior and everything was calm and collected untill the plate smashing and fire dancing occurred which is much more acceptable than constant noise like in this restaurant. additionally the waiters are overworked as many were visually struggling and flinging their sweat onto customers which is unacceptable and on the owners to take charge of how much they make people work. However what made me feel sick to my stomach was the abuse that me and my family recieved off the owner. As time ticked on we eventually got to an hour and fourty minutes where we were told that there was an additional 20 minute wait which was unacceptable thus we paid the drinks bill and made our way to the exit where the owner told us our food (which clearly wasnt ours) was ready for us so as you would expect we made our way out where the manager grabbed 2 of us and started swearing and giving verbal abuse such as loud swearing and shouting. Bare in mind this was in the middle of the restaurant (the main walkway) infront of countless children and families additionally the owner grabbed me and pointed fingers in my face and was starting to get aggressive and physical where at that point we turned off and began to walk where the manager apologised on his behalf. ultimately this is unnaceptable and abuse of his ownership, you would think that a man who allegedly has such a high status would have morals???? if anything i would like an in person apology from such a...
Read more"Pandesia Restaurant provided an unforgettable, authentic Greek dining experience. As we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the 'Godfather,' who set the tone for an evening filled with traditional Greek delights, plate smashing, and dancing.
Throughout the night, the attentive waitstaff made sure we were well-fed and our drinks were consistently topped up, striking a perfect balance between attentive service and allowing us to enjoy our meal.
We kicked off our culinary adventure with avocado prawns and octopus in vinegar, both of which were mouthwatering and showcased the rich flavors of Greek cuisine. For the main course, I opted for a prawn and chicken jambalaya, which was customized to my preference, prepared with a mild spice level. It was a delightful dish that catered to my taste.
What truly made the evening special was our involvement in traditional Greek plate smashing and dancing, adding an authentic and lively touch to the experience. The generous portion sizes of our main courses left us too full for dessert, but the meal was more than satisfying.
As we concluded our evening, 'the Godfather' walked us out, bestowing his blessings for happiness, health, and a positive life. Pandesia Restaurant not only served delicious cuisine but also created a memorable and immersive Greek dining experience that will remain in...
