First time we had visited this Island and picked this resort as it says its best for families. We stayed in a swim up Palazetto Suite room 231. Room was nice and spacious and very clean. Was able to have the air conditioning on all day every day which was a massive bonus. Rooms were nicely equipped and the cleaner was exceptional. Food at the beach bar was okay in the day time, but as we were half board, the food served there at tea time was tasteless, and disorganised. We were told we couldn't sit at a table one night as it had been reserved ????. I explained to the waitress that we were staying in the suites and nobody should have had the right to reserve a table as it wasn't a separate restaurant from the hotel but our own small one. We found alot of the staff couldn't understand basic English and the whole experience didn't seem anywhere near Greek but more like a Spanish resort. We found Tsilivi a large resort full of awfull chinese restaurants and tv filled noisy restaurants selling awfull food and didnt seem very family oriented to us. I would say it would suit younger people and the Benidorm kind of client who appreciate cheap food and booze and have come to a place that wants to take your money and not care about the quality of your stay. We hired a car to get away from this resort and just by chance we found a lovely place called Aleykes. Was like leaving Benidorm and entering a tranquil setting of a non over crowded beach with proper taverna restaurants and we even heard some Greek music. If partying and eating poor standard food then we would recommend Tsilivi but put our hotel room and move it to Aleykes and we would definitely consider returning one day. Ps, the 2 men that owned the cocktail bar as you walk up from the Palazetto Suites were a pain in the backside. Every day and night they used to shout come in, come in, and on our last day they got quite aggressive in their shouting to the point that it made myself and my wife very uneasy. Lovely hotel, food bad at the half board stay, and the totally wrong...
Read moreThis is a really nice place, it’s adults only so no kids which makes it ideal for older couples! You pay a premium for the swim up rooms on the ground floor but the other rooms are good. There is a lift, which is handy! You check in at the Tsilivi hotel across the road and the staff show you to your room. If you have a hire car it could be a bit tricky to park as there’s not much space and the road is a bit narrow! The bar / restaurant here has a limited opening time and shuts at around 6 pm but the food is pretty good and the beer is cold! The staff here all seem very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included for our stay and was a buffet in the other hotel’s restaurant which I found to be excellent! Something to note is that the Tsilivi hotel is an all inclusive which we didn’t realise until I’d ordered two drinks but couldn’t pay for them as we were from the wrong hotel! As you can’t put draught beer back in the pumps he just told us to enjoy our free beer! There are a couple of bar / restaurants within walking distance so no worries there! All in all this is a great place, very peaceful and highly...
Read morePros & cons. We enjoyed our stay but there were hiccups. I would recommend with the advice, 'manage your expectations'. facilities more 3 star than 4 star
PROS: great location, right on beach.Spacious room with a balcony, sea facing. Smart tv connects well to netflix, if needed. The staff are friendly and polite, Decent sized pool and no fighting over seating .Breakfast, across the road, had a good selection. Parking available.
CONS: The building and facilities are dated. lights on the blink, air conditioner on the blink, our door key stopped working- sink in bathroom blocked for days. Dressing gown had multiple large rips in it, . sickly sweet smell in the building and linen. One of the curtain rails was hanging off, reception is unmanned and you need to go across the road for help.
Zakynthos is a beautiful island to explore and Tsilivi was...
