Hostal Santiaguito — Hotel in Santiago Atitlán

I absolutely love this hidden gem! It's a little difficult to find but if you tell the locals you're looking for Santiagito they can easily direct you. It's right across the street from a soccer field and the gate is a peach color I believe. There's a little school in the front of the property. Once you walk past the classrooms and into the backyard prepare to be amazed! The garden is spectacular!! It truly is breathtaking. This hostel was my absolute favorite place to stay during my week at Lago Atitlan. We stayed in the cottage and loved the homey feel and waking up to the beautiful garden. The cottage has a stove so we were able to make our own dinner. The family that run the hostel are very kind and welcoming. One of my favorite memories will always be playing soccer and basketball in the rain with their two youngest children. My friend who is a travel agent in Flores, Peten recommends this hostel to everyone headed to Lago Atitlan. They're prices are very, very affordable as well. Do yourself a favor and visit this...

I loved my time at Santiago Hostel! The dorm rooms are a bargain at just Q.30 and the front yard is gorgeous - just filled with flowers and well taken care of plants. The family that helps take care of the grounds are really sweet and I liked playing with the little girl there. Although Santiago is less touristy than the surrounding towns there is still plenty to do- I went swimming in the lake and did the coffee tour...

Had a nice stay here in a 2bed private room. I peeked in and saw the dorm rooms, which are quite nice all with full sized beds.
