Las Lagartijas Restaurante Y Tienda — Restaurant in Santiago Atitlán

The most touristy restaurant in the Atitlan area that I have come across. Service was not friendly at all. Expensive. They don't seem to specialize in anything - large unfocused menu.

This is the kind of place Lonely Planet tourists would go to. If you understand that statement, steer clear. If you're confused by what I mean by that, you might very much like the "comfort" of this non authentic tourist-focused restaurant.

Ate here about 4 times in one week stay nearby. The jalapeño poppers are delicious and fresh (not the frozen kind that are found in USA). The Rosa da Jamaica drink is very good too. The chicken quesadillas are huge and tasty. I had the pork burrito delivered once and it was huge with no filler material like rice. Owners are friendly and are active in the local animal...
