CAFE ARTE Restaurante — Restaurant in Santiago Atitlán

I stopped here for a late-ish lunch, as part of the Lake Atitlan boat tour with friends. The ambience is absolutely refreshing, and the layout is very pleasing. The servers and staff were very professional and courteous. The food arrived within reasonable time, and the arrangement and decoration were absolutely spectacular. The fares are mid-range. The location is very convenient, near the market and 2 minutes walk from the pier. Very easy to flag tuk-tuks from here to explore other parts of the town.

I STRONGLY recommend this place to anybody in the Santiago Atitlan area looking to grab a bite and/or drink before/after their exploration of the lake...

Food was terrible. I ordered nachos, it came with dorritos chips, canned cheese, and a watered down guac (sad for a country that takes pride in growing their avocados). There was no tomatoes, cheese, fresca, onions or even pico…. But they did add carrots and broccoli not sure why?? I recently celebrated my birthday at this restaurant and had a wonderful experience. The food was fresh and delicious, clearly made with care. Everything tasted great and was beautifully presented.
