Spent new year with my girlfriend and had a pleasant experience. ||Staff/reception really friendly, welcoming and helpful. Its a locally owned business which is why i booked it - to support local people instead of foreign owners that dominate strip. ||Rooms are nice sized, beds comfy, warm showers, a/c and good number of outlets. Asked for extra pillows and got them. 5 gal of water in the room and mini fridge. ||Main Downside is that the location of the specific room we were in behind the main office/corridor meant we heard every one and everything coming in and out of the hotel. Top of bed sits at window facing main corridor. ||Wifi signal weak and inconsistent (less than 1 megabit/sec) but seems the case for most wifi on the island. ||Theres a neighbor with several large dogs that bark very loudly whenever some one walks by which is very disturbing early mornings. ||The hotel sits at the far west end of west end where the road is no longer paved and the development seems to taper off creating a kind of quiet, slightly isolated and rugged feel. Didnt feel dangerous and there is a guard on duty. ||Overall staff are the best part. Try not to get a room near the front and youll probably have a better,...
Read moreWe planned a 3 week vacation and booked this place for the middle week. Our other places were expensive beach front rooms. We intended to explore the island and cook our meals this week so felt it could help the budget. What a great surprise to have a much larger unit with a balcony, full kitchen & bedroom to ourselves. It was nice that the small hotel offered various options like the apartment. We found this place quieter than the other locations at WestEnd and Sandy bay and it really was only a short stroll to the less populated beach. From there we could walk to West Bay along the sand or take a short water taxi. We also enjoy walking the Main Street of WestEnd daily with all the delicious restaurants, shops & snorkelling options steps away. We only cooked once, but liked the full fridge and stove for leftovers. We also saw lots of birds , cats & butterflies from the balcony even though it was a small space. And yes the office staff was...
Read moreThis was my husband and I's second time back in Roatan, and we are so glad we decided to stay at Blue Waters. Our top priorities for a place to stay when traveling are 1) clean (especially the bathrooms) 2) comfortable 3) value - this place fits the bill 5/5 on all these areas. The property is kept impeccably cleaned daily, which we were so appreciative of given that we and most people in Roatan are there for diving, and therefore using the bathroom quite frequently. The service is awesome from Valerie & company is also impeccable. We look forward to returning to Blue Water next time...
